Solved What inventory systems are being used now

We use MobileAsset Pro, it works is rather cheap, and allows our remote offices to manage assets as required from a Web console.
-
free version of lansweeper looks good too! http://www.lansweeper.com/purchase.aspx
Everyone on different forums are complaining about the performance of spiceworks local install.

Yeah, I don't understand why Windows 7/8.1 machines appear as Apple Mac Devices in Spiceworks and asking for SSH credentials.
Lots of weird issues on 3 different sites, so I wrote it off all together.

If I need on-going monitoring and management, LanSweeper.
For manual inventory, Stripe IT.
For inventory combined with helpdesk, FreshService. Though not used it in production for awhile.
-
How does freshservice compares to Spiceworks cloud help desk? The free version of freshservice

No way to connect SW local to their hosted helpdesk-only solution.
Sure you can...
How?

Remember, this is a conversation about inventory. that is the context. There is no way to do this. There isn't even an interface on their hosted solution for inventory.

You do not. I'm not sure wtf he things he is talking about.

That's on the hosted helpdesk? What tab? If you link it, what shows up?
-
So you can link OTHER Spiceworks helpdesks into it? That seems odd.
-
Oh, I found that page. I think you are confused about what that is. That's NOT linking the inventory to your helpdesk that is hosted, that's linking your account to a specific public URL for your on premises installation. It's just your account, and it's just a link, no integration.
-
Why are there three different links on that page of Aarons?

Because they are putting links into your profile menu on Spiceworks.com.
-
That's just part of your SW page, it's not related to SW Hosted Helpdesk. But, as you know, they merge all of those things into a single interface so you can't tell where your local install ends and the community begins. But that's the SW community he is looking at there.

PDQ Inventory is amazing. I highly recommend it. I love being able to remotely and silently uninstall almost any application via the GUI by literally right clicking the application and clicking uninstall.
