Our town main power distribution center went haywire last night. It was offline for a while and the UPSs in three of our networking closets failed... so lots of running around like a chicken with its head cut off this morning.

Well that will explain a few things... Do they have a cause as to why it happened?
As for the UPSs failing,.. is it a failed UPS or a expired battery? Did you know that a SLA or AGM battery, while sealed does emit some gasses when charging.. if you remove the battery and it sounds like loose rice in it, the gel has been cooked and the battery is dead.

There is a strange, bright ball of fire in the sky for a second day in a row now... I feel like I should do something to appease it, or at least try my best not to anger it....
(it has been raining for 3 months straight here, f*cking el nino...)
