      Uhm,.. get an iPhone?

Do you get any type of actual error or just a redirect? Does it point you to the same site: appfreedownload.org? or is it a random site and changes?

Random sites but mostly that one and sends me to the Google store to download games. IPhone, ha your funny! I'll stick with my droid, even with all its issues I still like it more than Apple.

      Amen!

For me, it's about the phone working, vs. not working. I and all the members of my family with Android phones had awful luck with them not working, not updating emails, not getting texts, etc. My iPhone 4s has been through hell, and it still works, I just finally broke it to the point where it doesn't charge while powered on, only while off, which is annoying, but it still works. I'm due for an upgrade, but I'm waiting for a 6 so that I have maximum time for iOS upgrades before it's obsolete.

Sure there is a small learning curve on Android phones, but we are technical and it isn't that difficult compared to troubleshooting Windows, Mac OS, or Linux operating systems.

In this day and age the simplicity argument doesn't hold as much water. Have you used Android KitKat? Its rather simple compared to Android 2.0. If you just want simplicity and dont care about features why not just get the Iphone 5c?

KitKat is super stable too. The Froyo and Gingerbread generation (Android 2.x) was not real stable. Honeycomb, or Android 3.0, brought about a huge boost in stability, and features. 4.0 was even better. Now we're on 4.4 and it's just rock solid.

    • DNS IPs to Use Keep Resetting

I have an issue where I turn off DNS on the LAN ports of my cloud DC and have it only run on the IPv6 and v4 ports of my Pertino interface. However, every time I reboot, it resets to use "All IP addresses". Is this due to some sort of sync from the other DC or something else?

Is that where "Thanks AJ" came from? 🙂

No, that came from Spiceworks. I used to sign every post I made:

After a while it became a running joke. I eventually stopped because @Minion-Queen made me while I was at NTG. But the name stuck.

Yes the cost would make it much more affordable, therefore seen at 100x or maybe many many more than that than small airplanes.

I could see 5x, but nothing like 100x. Those things are going to cost $20K minimum, I'm sure.

So does a Harley, and those are everywhere! I can't say how many more Harleys ($20-$40K bikes in general) there are than personal planes, but I bet it's a lot more than 5x.

Assuming these are truly safe these could be a great replacement for a commuter vehicle (though some sort of weather protection would greatly improve their everyman use).

This type of vehicle you can park outside your local pub or restaurant, you can't park you plane at starbucks.

      Precisely.

What makes you think because it works in the browser the ports aren't blocked? The app uses port 32400 (TCP)

Yeah, I know. Because the web link is jump.thanksaj.com:32400/web but, from what I can tell, it routes the Plex app through their servers via your account which then connects back to your server. I'm thinking that there must be some proxy of some sort causing the disconnect but I'm not sure if there is anything I can do to get around it...

I agree. I'd guess 20-40K. About the price of a mid-range new car. But it'll be a toy more than anything.

    • Plex Site Loads but App Won't?

      Hey all,

Trying to figure out a weird issue at work. I use my HP Elitepad 1000 to stream my Plex server to my Plantronics Backbeat Pro headphones while I work, which they don't have a problem with. The issue is when I go to use the Plex Metro app. All I get is this:

Now this wouldn't seem so weird but I can load my same Plex server through the link to my site (plex.thanksaj.com) using Chrome in Windows 8 mode. I can also load plex.tv, so the ports and site aren't blocked. The app works fine at home. Does anyone know what's different between how the Plex app and the Plex site work?

      Thanks,
      A.J.

Plus planes require a very specialized license. If these things require a lengthy license before you can just cruise around town on them, they probably won't sell very well, but if you don't have said license - watch out!

Also, you don't take an airplane to the movies (unless you live in Alaska). I would totally expect this thing to be a 'cool' ride for date night. You'll see them parked all along the strip just like you see modern motorcycles.

These are just some of the concerns.

      Well said.

I have to keep my opinions of Cisco in check because I work for one of their biggest support partners. There are people on staff here who WROTE protocols Cisco uses. Dual-CCIE level guys and above.

They used to be the only ones who made decent gear. Now there are plenty of others Juniper etc. yet Cisco still charges a high price for the name of yester year.

I don't disagree. I just have to be less vocal about that kind of stuff. I'm also working to keep an open mind about everything...bringing a bias like that into a business where that is literally ALL they do is a recipe for disaster.
