That Zoho product is NOT cheap. Saw your post, $5-$15/user each month. That adds up really quickly. That's well into custom, enterprise app prices if you get any number of users. Paying $15/mo for each user when you have to make the app yourself doesn't make sense. You could be paying for something already built at those prices.

Not sure I follow.
It's an expression meaning that he is grabbing some popcorn to watch the show... that the unfolding of the information will be interesting.

And this is the failing to the uninitiated. I don't really understand what the shell does. I don't understand what makes it work differently than another one.
English and French are different. They can accomplish the same things, but they get there in different ways. Programming languages are a lot like that. Some things are easier to do in English, some things are easier to do in French. But nothing is easier than getting to speak in your own language all of the time.

RE: The Scripting Zone
I think that more and more firms are realizing the value of keeping people at home so that you can actually get work done. It makes the day longer for work too. The commute time, the lunch time, the water cooler time - all those things that cut into the day because you are in the office mostly go away when working from home.

Has anyone created a nice open source print monitoring solution in linux?
What kind of monitoring are you looking for?
I want to be able to monitor everything in an invisible client (prints, copies, etc) and generate a report in a central location. Nothing crazy.
Are you just using CUPS? I'm sure CUPS will provide that information somehow, have never tried but it's pretty robust.
No but I wanted to start a dialogue about possible solutions. I need to monitor everything including local printers.
Local printers would be different than print servers. I doubt there is an open source option for local printers, pretty limited scope there. But there might be. If you were using CUPS locally, it would be the same as on a server. But I'm going to guess that even though you are looking for open source, you are not doing open source printing?
