Seen 2 movies from when I was a kid .
2010: The Year We Make Contact. I still love that movie!! It tied up most of the loose ends from 2001 and still gives you a sense of wonder 30 years after its making.
Crossroads: Always loved this movie, even though The Karate Kid was the main character.
There was always a weird ending to it, and I recently found out why.
Spoiler ALERT!!
"Lightning Boy" wanted to be a blues man, but played a classical piece to defeat Jack Butler and the devil. Why? From IMDB trivia: ""Eugene's Trick Bag", the updated classical piece at the film's climax, is largely based on Niccolò Paganini's Caprice #5. According to myth, Paganini, sold his soul to the devil for his musical skills. Steve Vai replicates Paganini's legendary rolling eyes, long unkempt hair, and gaunt look."
The song was even said to be an ode to the devil because of its speed, precision, and needing unusually large hands to play the piece, even in today's standards.
Here's a video of the piece. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=amfCqFUMBkY
