I swear sometimes I am just too stupid. Restarting the CRM server fixed the problem.
Problem fixed in 5 minutes after smashing my head against the wall for hours.

RE: Trust Relationship Error
You can simply unplug the Ethernet cable, reboot and login with the domain admin login. It then cant check the domain on reboot and should let you in. You can then fix the time, remove it, make a local admin user, reboot, rejoin to domain. done this many times in the past, if I am understanding you.

Ludicrous spam messages
Every couple days i browse the spam quarantine to make sure invoices arent stuck tehre by mistake. Perhaps this will take off here, perhaps not.
Post some of the dumbest things you get in your spam quarantine.
Here are a couple subject lines from mine:"Hitlers final words before his last breath played for the first time Tuesday 52168119"
Why??? What???"Mark Cuban Says He Can Profit from a Market Crash, No Matter Who's President"
I get Mark Cuban things similar to this regularly in teh spam filter, not sure why."Mobile Industry Professionals leads"
These people, who responds to these with "Yes"? -
RE: SysLog Forwarding for XenServer
I donwloaded the Graylog OVA this morning to test it out and put it on my XS pool. Just set Xencenter to forward logs to the Graylog server, seems to work well. Xenserver still making local log entries, but i am ok with that.
Xenserver sure does like logging messages. 2 hosts making a couple hundred messages/minute, xenstored and xapi are the top ones by far. -
RE: What Are You Doing Right Now
Customer is a billion dollar electric company, no SPF record, main web page renders blank.
All their emails go into our spam quarantine.
FFS people who are you paying to run your stuff? -
RE: What If You Didn't Need to Replace Hard Drives
Bought a few Intel 160GB drives refurbished on the egg for $38 each about a month ago. Made an old OptiPlex 3010 blazing fast for office work. Just waiting to put the rest in older machines to refresh them.
edit:
Also I have never had a hdd fail on me at home. At work a few times over the years, but it is rare indeed. -
RE: What Are You Doing Right Now
Just got a spiceup from a howto i did 8 years ago!

RE: Why is Hyper-V More Confusing
I think the root of all the confusion with Hyper-V is that it is an MS Server product that doesnt cost money.
Everybody skips the EULA, so MS should just put a big vb message box with blinking bright lights that says "Hyper-V Server is free, if you put windows servers on it you must pay for those, but never for Hyper-V Server". Make people hit that button twice, then say an oath to Cortana, "I know that hyper-v server is free, if i put Windows vms on it i must pay for those" Only then would it install. -

Stopping spam with SCL of 0
Youve all seen these emails, or maybe you havent. If not please let me know!
"%industry% professionals databank/user list".
Generally one or two of these get through per day here.
Annoying, but people just delete them when they get them.
Theyre tricky ones to stop get though because their SCL is 0 according to Exchange.
How would you stop these?
I was thinking adding some regex filters on a incoming transport rule -
RE: What did you have for lunch or dinner today?

@BRRABill
You can also make a new Graylog user (like AdminUserGuy) and set that user to the correct time zone from the web interface/user options -
RE: What Are You Watching Now
Per a thread post earlier, tonight i will be watching Red Dwarf.
Seasons 1-6 the best tv ever made bar none. -
RE: Cross Post - How to prevent a company laptop/device from working on external networks
That might be true, but there is no practical way to do what the op wants and have happy and productive employees.
He wants his users to take home a brick every night, write some things in Word locally then bring it to work and connect it to their network. Like its 1995.
Setting up a policy and scanning for violations is much easier to implement and enforce than what SW OP wants. It is that simple. Or, don't treat your employees like slaves or indentured servants. -
RE: What Are You Watching Now
@scottalanmiller Ya i have all of them on dvd, the dvds with the collectors trading cards in them. Also have a the Red Dwarf jacket patch, and a tshirt.

What to do about misconfigured email servers from other orgs
Occasionally a user forwards me an email that looks 'fishy'. This email usually consists of a word doc that asks the user to click 'enable editing' or some bs like that. Obviously I just blacklist the domain right?
Well in some of these cases the orgs that are sending these spurious emails are potential customers for us, like state wide, country wide, international service providers, they just have something wrong in their dns records or email sever setup. So I just don't want to BL them.
Today I went to one of these websites and clicked on Contact Us, sent an email explaining what was wrong with their setup.
In this case their spf record is missing a space between the last server address and -all, effectively making their spf record do nothing, even though mxtoolbox doesn't show invalid syntax errors or anything.
Ive done this a few times over the years.Do any of you do similar things?

RE: What Are You Watching Now
@scottalanmiller Yea it is their own show, own host, own questions, not just the Steve Harvey version dubbed with Spanish.
The questions they ask are hilarious.
