RE: What Are You Doing Right Now
To top that off, the company I work for does not own the gear. It gets more convoluted from there.

@scottalanmiller 100% donated networking gear from HP. Which was super nice of them! But this stuff was old when we got it and it's not getting any better.

Munching a sandwich and plotting the deaths of my enemies
You've been doing that a lot recently.
When your enemies are a horribly bottlenecked 100mbit lan, no money and scant resources it takes a lot of plotting to get anything done.

"grumblings from the grapevine allude to some shiestyness occurring."
Why no specifics?

RE: Exablox testing journal
Contact established with Support at 1:30pm, email at 4:42pm requesting permission to reboot, I replied immediately, box rebooted at 4:46 with all errors cleared. I'm a happy camper.

@scottalanmiller Will you post some stats? It'd be fun to see

RE: Ubiquiti Announces Their airFiber X Hardware
Ahh... 200km range, line of sight. Clearly the horizon isn't an issue but that is their escape clause. I'd really enjoy playing with one of these, I have the perfect application in mind.

500mbit/s over 200km? for $400? Their stuff is insane if that can be actualized

RE: What Are You Doing Right Now
@coliver I'm sure it's good, but I'm afraid I am a bit scarred from that experience. I'd be ok with never dealing with one again

@Minion-Queen 120 year old company had a PBX to match in a building that was "updated" with telephone wiring in the 60's

Waiting for my new cell to arrive for GroveSocial. We decided to go completely mobile and not have a PBX or anything and be all IPhone based. So I ordered a IPhone 6plus (let's see if it even fits in my hand).
No matter your struggles with going mobile, always remember how crappy PBX's are and sigh in relief at having made the right move.

I think its gotten to the point where the speed of devices has no baring on the usability.
I don't think you really mean that, imagine saying that about the Motorola Razor!
