If this is a concern for you, you should look at running a backup job to backup the PST from time to time.

I want Folder Redirection to act as a backup where Offline file is the original and Network drive is the copy. I don't think that is how it works.

What version of Outlook are they on? If we're talking about people who last saw OWA in the 2007 days, maybe even the 2010 days, I can understand where they are coming from, OWA 2010 was very usable, and 2013 is pretty much Outlook in a browser.

I'd ask them to take a look again and let them know about the freedoms it grants them (use from any computer - all data available from anywhere, etc).

We are on 2010. I have the latest OWA with Outlook.com and it looks gorgeous.

Nothing that I've found. It's always faster in my own use cases. Even in startup, somehow!

Our ADDC is 2008 at the moment, and we have an option for Folder Redirection APPDATA(Roaming). Our environment is heavily utilize Outlook as primary communication application. We DO NOT host our exchange server as we are outsourced.

One day a HDD died on one of our user. All documents and files are Folder Redirected to network drive so everything is good. However, Outlook .pst file is located in APPDATA Local and it was not redirected to network drive. The problem is restoring Outlook mails. He has about 10GB of mailbox size and it took a whole day with bandwidth restriction lifted to completed. In the mean-time I offer him OWA so he can continue his work even if it is slower than Outlook.

To prevent this from happening again I want to know how to set GPO for APPDATA(Local) or GPO/script that will move and reconfigure Outlook Data file to new location...say /Document/Outlook PST. This way it will be covered by GPO Document folder redirection. I am trying to find an automatic way that does not required me to go cube to cube.

So I read a post about a guy who utilize scripts to do his work for him. I want to know how can this benefit IT environment? If it's something repetitive, I understand but is there a script that will allow, for example, a computer change its IP address as per user who logged in at the time?

I am a lone wolf here at my company and want to utilize any scripts that will help it easier to monitor or just do the job for me. I know this is not apple-to-apple situation but I like to have some ground to start with.

That actually is what I am trying to do but a phone number can belong to any carrier. I want to know if there is a way to determine or a service that can provide SMSgateway per phone number.

Here's a back story. We are recruiting agency and we usually communicate with potential candidate via email and phone. However, some candidates prefer texting instead. We try to avoid texting because we cannot compliance archive their conversation. What happens was recruiters text their candidates using their personal phone. Modern phone allow messages to be delete individually and that arise concerns to the manager (who may have to take responsible for their 'underlings' :P) . We are in US.

I am looking into a way to translate a phone number into SMSgateway. I know about the existing of [email protected]/e http://www.emailtextmessages.com/
but I want to know if there is any provider that can translate it on the spot. Preferably by clicking the phone number and it populate mailto: to Outlook.

LOL!!! You are in exact same boat as me! But it took me 2 whole months to persuade them to go VMs. Nice job on that!.
There's a lot of thread on how to go visualization and different between each hypervisor.

As SAM has mentioned before in other thread Do you homework before purchasing hardware! Don't make the same mistake I did.

Why would you buy old versions? Buy current. Don't invest in technical debt.

My guess would be budget or CALs.
Otherwise 2012 R2 with SA (software assurance) is the way to go.

Answer is "maybe" to "no". Some services that SQL server 2k utilize may not be available in 2008-2012.

Worst case scenario with HyperV, you just install to the main OBR array and not to SD/USB. Not ideal, but not bad either.

Tried all USB port and none detected.
Right now I created another partition on the main ARRAY for HyperV server. I'm doing this just to gets something going. Still wants it on SD CARD xD

USB 3.0 is disabled by default. Never turn it on.

I tried USB drive but it didn't detected during Windows installation stage. Will try again.

Just looked at the BIOS setting. I did not see anywhere that indicate SD card as SATA.

Is this common issue or just on R430?

I have looked as the SD card configuration under Integrated Devices. The only options are
On/Off
Mirror from SD1 or SD2
There is one more but I couldn't think of it on top of my head.

Yes. I am using the dual slot SD card from Dell. The SD card is Samsung Evo 32GB UHS-I

I posted the same question on Spiceworks and got some responds. Overall, no one seem to be able to say that Hyper V server can be install on SD card.
I also have 32GB USB 3.0 laying around which I can use, but I still preferably to use SD card for its redundancy.
I do not understand step 2 on Microsoft's guide. imageX.

This is the only way to do it "properly." You have to make the BIOS lie to Windows. This is the only part of Hyper-V that I have tried to use, that I do not like.

How do I do that? can you be more specific as to lie part.

I need how-to install Hyper V 2012 on SD card.

I have followed Deploying Microsoft Hyper-V Server 2008 R2 on USB Flash Drive But failed at step 2 where imageX is mentioned. I think I can handle the rest just need to understand how to complete step 2.

I tried installing via DVD and what-not but it keep giving me this error message "Windows cannot be installed to this disk. Setup does not support configuration of or installation to disks connected through a USB or IEEE 1394 port"

I found a post on SW that it didn't really help much.

Can you tell me more about Group Policy central store? Is it the same as Administrative Template?

Our domain controller is Windows 2008 R2 and some users asked why aren't we upgrading to Windows 10 yet. I told them to prevent the issue with compatibility. I like to know if Windows 10 is ready for Domain workstations yet?

I've been using Windows 10 for couple of months with little to no error at all. Most of the problems I have already been resolved. Any feedback from any admin with Windows 10 in their environment?

EDIT: We plan on upgrading to Win2012 R2 or Win 2016 R2 (if it release anytime soon) next year.
