RE: Automated Provisioning - KVM & CM tools
@fuznutz04 My first thought about how to best do something like this is Ansible. There are several ways but to me this sounds like what Ansible is meant to do.

RE: What Are You Doing Right Now
@DustinB3403 Oh sorry I see how you took that, I just wasn't clear. Everyone is mostly out in IT except for me and two others. The instruction building has classes in there most of the day. So I did the changeover in between class periods. Hope that makes better sense.

But the general rule of thumb is... when you are ready to ask "is it time to move on", that means that the answer is already "yes". You don't ask that question of yourself when it's not time to move on. You only ask yourself (and others) when deep down, you already know the answer.
Yeah that is exactly what I was feeling and why I asked.

Play with Suse man, i am loving it right now. If your in US/Canada study RHEL and Centos. I said stay cause you should be master in it, and you can learn another thing without that effecting. and be system admin
Yes I have always used rhel as a hobbyist. Suse has been much more current, like the last 3 years. I just keep vm's running and experiment on them to learn.

I have had some issues with external monitors losing signal and basically going back and forth every second.
I've also had this exact issue.

Do they all use the same model of monitor? I am wondering if the docks don't like the HDMI on Asus 24 inch monitors that I have been buying for several years.
My configuration has been 2 seperate Dell Ultrasharp monitors using Display port

RE: Taking over IT for a small business
@Dashrender
I think your ideas look very reasonable and a good idea. My thoughts are:I would get everything to windows 10 if possible, I understand it might not be with those pos systems.
I would stick with Defender unless you find out a reason to get more complex later on.
If they don't understand security very much I would propose to the bosses getting everyone off admin accounts if possible. Have one for yourself and regular user accounts for everyone else that will let them do their job.
There is a powershell module "windowsupdate" that works ok for me here. I schedule that here along with chocolatey updates for our free stuff.

@WrCombs Dang, sorry to hear that. Not the end of the world though, just makes things a bit more complicated.

RE: Static Web Site Design Tools
I quickly found a problem that would keep me from using Publii personally and that's no native LaTeX support. After showing it to a friend and how easy it was to setup and use, I wondered if I could convert one of my sites to it. However I have to have good math support and it doesn't. For any other user it seems to work great.

RE: ...It just wasn't designed with mouse in mind
Many time yes it is an inconvenience.
Clicking a lot just sucks. You should know what you want to do. Just type it and open it. Like the command line.
Spacing is also an issue. It is slower and taxes my eyes more than just using a command whether in windows or linux. -

@scottalanmiller Ok I see. Love their stuff though.
oh yeah, Zoho has been amazing. We are so happy with the product and just getting into using more and more features of it.
Yes I use their stuff at home, make my family use it so I can see how easy/hard it really is to use.

Make sure they aren't duplexing by default from whatever application they are printing from. I have seen that and its annoying.
