@siringo My family and I use Slack. It doesnt push ads like facebook and doesnt have sharing of contacts like almost everything does. I control the channel and decide who gets in. I keep it to just family members I want. It can do anything, even video, and keeps on getting better. I have an RSS channel for reading various blogs I like. I'm sure other things do all this but this is what I use.

Something else I use is Zoom which is mainly video but has some chat enabled with it. I use it for work purposes because I dont like to mix personal and business on the same app.

Thank you. I am ready, I believe. It is just taking longer than I was expecting. Is there a better way to do this sort of thing? It seems like this is my only choice. I have all the records in place at the new name server. I appreciate your help.

I will take a little time for things to sync, so don't panic yet. Sometimes a few hours in my experiences.

    • RE: Microsoft Security Essentials - Script?

@WrCombs Yes easily with powershell and the Windows task system. Write your powershell to restart the computers. Use the task scheduler to run it at whatever time you want. It has a wizard to guide you through it.

@jmoore I just got to the point I didn't want to touch my computer anymore. I have suffered some health issues that I thought might of affected my interest but, I don't think it was just that. Linux is just working how I would expect an OS to work and has give me a bit more interest again. Even BASH command line makes more sense.
The windows team have halved asked trying to remove the control panel and still not changed all the way over to the new settings screen yet, more clicks are now needed to change the network adaptor..I could just go on how unproductive it is. No mater how much you try and snooze on an update it will eventually restart, and I like leaving certain screens open, like my cameras for example. Anyway I won't keep ranting about that..I've been running Linux based servers now for a while, I'm just glad I put the effort into learning a while back. It's now my main desktop 🙂

To me, Linux is just more fun. I also enjoy learning different flavors too.

Nice article, I've never played with Teraform yet but its on my list.

Can anyone honestly recommend Teams? Asking for a friend 🤔

LOL, not this guy. What's amazing is... how the heck did they screw this up? Like with Rocket and Mattermost both being older, open, and free and Teams just.... completely fails by comparison! How can they have so much money and be so completely bad at this?

It's seems that Teams is popular among Colleges or at least where I'm working at and where my wife works at.

I think part of that is that Microsoft installs this without asking on desktops. Then people see it and wonder what it is.

@LilAng I havent checked but could be from our reference point. Normally objects in space follow the orbital motion of the closest star. Retrograde is going the opposite. Mercury's has not changed but it just appears that way when combined with Earth's orbit. It will only appear that way for a little while. People blaming anything on this is just nonsense of course.

@jmoore said in Which Nas OS?:

. From everyone's opinion I should just stay with NFS and Samba?

That's all that there is. All NAS OSes are just repackaging the same NFS and Samba that everyone else is. There is really only one non-Windows provider of those services.

Oh well dang. I lost interest in this fast lol. Thanks for the info.
