Were you ruffling feathers again? 😉 Does someone have it out for you?

@alexntg just said that some other people had this happen a month ago. Apparently it is a bug that they've not been able to get fixed for a while.

      Well, that's better news.

    • RE: What Was Your Favourite 8bit Computer?

@scottalanmiller Well, considering I wasn't born until 1983 and it was my only 8bit computer, I'd have to go with the Commodore 64 as well. Space Invaders FTW!!

@scottalanmiller That's creative! I'll have to check out the home streaming thing.

    • RE: Music!

I like music! I listed to Pandora at work and it's usually some sort of typical Alternative Rock. I also play guitar & bass as well as a small bit of mandolin (on my banjolin) and trying to learn to drum.

I appreciate a good listening experience, but I'm not in the audiophile category.

Thanks for this!!! This was the push I needed to get started down the MCSA path for Server 2012. Purchased 70-410, 70-411, and 70-412 courses. If they suck, I'm only out $57 =).

If you can't install MediaWiki/Docuwiki and it's pre-reqs, then you're clearly still in the beginner stage. His ego definitely seems to be getting in the way of his progress.

He said "World" so must be Orlando.

Being born and raised in the Orlando area, I know that but I doesnt mean that people dont use it interchangeably

People who actually go never do.

I've corrected people several times when they say they're "going to Disney". Do people not listen to themselves? My wife is a HUGE DL/CA fan. In 10 years of marriage we've been 6 times. We're due for another trip A.S.A.P.

If you file yourself, its $125

No question then. File for LLC. No personal income tax!! That makes it nice. The filing fee is right around the same here in CA.

@scottalanmiller Correct, that's just for DBA Sole Proprietors. Do you usually recommend LLCs? In CA, the cost to register an LLC seems kinda steep for a consultant starting out. I agree it's a good (great) idea, but many don't due to the cost. I'd like to hear your reasons (though I'm sure I can guess most of them).

Its only about $100 to start a LLC in Florida

Yearly? I just looked it up. The LLC tax (yearly) is 8.84% ($800 minimum). The actual document filing costs aren't bad (many online packages do it for you).

LLC tax? what's that? I used to have an S corp years ago. There was no corporate tax (fee) other than filing fees. Are you saying in your state you have to pay the state 8.84% of your earnings just because you are a business? This is off the NET profits, right, not gross? This doesn't even make sense!

That's the corporate tax rate for an LLC in California. https://www.ftb.ca.gov/businesses/bus_structures/LLCompany.shtml

Those are awesome! I'd sleep in those now! Many remind me of the bunk beds in my grandmas motorhome when I was a kid.

Something to keep in mind. In California at least, using your last name means you don't need to register a fictitious business name (e.g. Radon Consulting). Other states have different requirements. You may still want to register it regardless.

Thanks for the explanation. I'm obviously very weak in the hardware architecture realms. Do you think we'll ever see Windows servers on ARM? Would that even be a good thing (seems like it would be)?

EDIT: Did a quick search, and it appears they're already working on Windows Server on the ARM architecture.

    • RE: Independent Team Beats Google to Offering 64bit Android

I feel like this will become a huge marketing thing in the next couple years. Samsung says, "look we have 64 bits and run on the 12G network", but the tech specs only show 3GB of RAM. Assuming 3GB RAM, will android be faster with the 64-bit architecture than on 32?
