Jeez - 1.8" guess I need to do some reading.. I hadn't seen those yet.

So - just managed to lose two full days of software adjustments using ACRONIS
Would you believe that Source disk is in the same state as the Clone - non-bootable.
HP Probook, Seagate 500GB Momentus Drive
I've used others, but not recently - any better suggestions for cloning a Win 7 pro system?
Needs to be USB Bootable.
I have a few HP AIO 8600 and 8700 printers. They seem decent enough though I have not had them a year yet. They were about $160 or so at Office Depot.
I don't know much about the Panasonic line,.. I would have thought they would be good,.. but every Vendor has their lemon line..

Never used it but, I honestly don't like tools like that. I find they tend to cause more issues than they are helpful. Plus in a business environment everything should be on a server using either a network drive or redirected folders besides the outlook profiles.
Agree it should be on the server. But the server isn't even a factor yet since we really don't have one. No AD yet...
Just call me the little Dutch Boy.. I have things going,.. but now where they need to be in a organization. But I'm getting there....
Spoke to my brother, he suggested changing the Folder / file permissions to show all files and folders (including hidden).
Changed it, and the folders are viewable,.. so it's a case of MS hiding data from itself.

@g.jacobse I don't believe it finds PST files. You can back those up manually though, if it's even required. Do you know if the person has local archived PST files or are they using Exchange w/cached mode enabled?
Looking at the Customize option right now, Nothing 'extra' in the folder list: Desktop, Favorites, Documents, StartMenu.
We aren't on Exchange - But we are moving to O365. Previously POP3/IMAP,.. so mail would be in .PST files or something else if installed. I've not seen any Thunderbird or gasp Express setups.
It's long after the fact, but has anyone used the WET to move someone from a XP pro system to 7Pro?
I used WET a few months back and when restored the person's mail, contacts and calendar were lost (Outlook). I've done some checking and even re-ran the import and still not finding the .pst files.
Just looking at the Modify your Selection options, you can get to the Doc&Settings/$user, but it only shows Desktop, MyDocs, Fav, Start menu, nothing below that.
Oh joy,.. I only have 6 gMail accounts... or is it 8? I don't remember.
Has anyone opened the file to search it?
Guess I need to learn more about it, but am not sure if it would help us.
But maybe right now isn't the time to look into it as I need to deal with the Domain, AD and security issues first.
Better then what I have / had.
Last office was a folding table with a HP ML350 on it... The other new Dell PE2900 was on the floor,.. the firewall - same place.. floor. With the 2 APC UPS 1500s.
Oh - the sprinkler head was right above it all.. Poor design / placement for the network infrastructure.
New office has 2 buildings in a H floor plan. End of each main hall is a utility closet, half with the HVAC, other half....well. stuff.
Of the 12 closets I have 7 servers sitting in them,.. no real ventilation on each.. It's a plan to deal with it, and a rack is planned...

I'd use velcro instead.
Good point. If you had to remove just one cable you're in for a bit of work to pull it out of the spiral stuff.
Interesting concept,.. but something you can easily do after a trip to ACE Hardware, LOWEs or Home Depot..

I'm not sure how much I can offer - it's a protected sheet, we are only allowed to enter some data. But there are 4 date fields and a day calculated from that.
Start Date; Release Date; First date of month, last date of month.
Here is the formula which is in column "K":
=IF(ISBLANK(H5),"",IF(ISBLANK(G5),"Enter START DATE to calculate",IF(AND(MONTH(EOMONTH($A$2,1))>MONTH(G5),MONTH(G5)>=MONTH($A$2)),IF(ISBLANK(F5,EOMONTH($A$2,0)-G5+1,H5-G5),"START DATE MUST BE >= "&TEXT($A$2,"mm/dd/yyyy"))))
Column Fields:
e= Arrival Date
f= Release Date
g=Start date
h= end date
k=#of days formula aboveBased on what I've tried,.. the formula works as long as you don't enter anything in the Release date. Once you enter the release date, the #of days drops by 1.
I'm told it works 'correctly' on one computer. I've tried two computers here one with 2010 and one with 2007 and get the same result. count is off by 1 (30 days rather than 31).
I believe the MONTH variable is 30 days. That's probably where the issue is.
I can see that being the case. However: Why would it work on one computer and not on any other.
Something I might should have done (it's more advanced Formulas than I know) - is copy the formula into a new clean workbook.
I do get an error: You've entered to many arguments for this function.
I also see that the formula in row 5 calls Row2 Col 1 which is current begin date of the month.

Would there be any differences in how formulas are processed between 2007 and 2010?
I've got a spreadsheet which I'm guessing was created in 2010 and being used in 2007. It's saved in .xlsx format, but the formula isn't calculating correctly in 2007. And for <me> in either 2007 or 2010....
It looks like a sweet setup.
reading the About page triggers a voice in my head - is it safe / secure?
I know that question smacks of complete distrust and such, I'm not a real conspiracy nut; but i/m generally cautious of software....
I imaging with the progression of things, that the Click of a hard drive head crash will be one we add to that list some time in the next 10 - 20 years. As SSHD increase in capacity... we'll use SATA less.
*click, click whir; click, click whir"
My brother asked me about how I would test and wipe a hard drive..,.. Any type. He has some old SCSI type, as well as PATA and SATA drives.
Other then spending hours with only one computer going from back and forth with a drive or spending upwards to $1800, is there a way to test a drive to see if it's still 'trustworthy' or toast,.. and then wiping them.
This is a personal level thing - he's picked up a stack of drives and want to be able to either use them or destroy them with no or little cost.
Just deleted the script and created it again - it works,.. but extra steps.
