@thanksaj Correct. Then Vitelity sends the call failure notification because they could not forward the call.

This client has either 1 or 2 DID's. There are two in the system but I am unsure if they use both of them. I have two emails, one from today and one from 10/15. Both to the same DID, at two different times of the day.

Call failure meaning the report from Vitelity in the original post.

Um, no, that's not what it means. They are unique things.

I think that they would technically be the same time, but they definitely aren't equivalent in the setting of a time.

Right. They would be the same time, but not the same zone. Is this significantly pertinent to the issue?

Here's an interesting one. Every now and again a client sends us an email from Vitelity detailing a call failure. It only ever is one at a time and happens once every couple weeks. Nothing changes in the configuration. This is how the email reads:

"A call to your DID <removed> from <removed> has failed at 11:02am on 11/05/2014 MDT. We received 'CHANUNAVAIL' when attempting to route the call to your server or device. This number is configured to route to the peer<removed> on the account <removed>

This error usually means your server or device is not currently registered to our servers. Please make sure you are registered to the correct inbound server for your account as per the configuration samples found on the support page within the user portal and that you have selected the correct routing method for your DID(s) on the DIDs page.
      "

      Any ideas?

Is the client in Mountain time?

The PBX is hosted. DFW data center.

Why is the time zone in mountain time?

Not entirely sure. The client is either Central or Eastern time, and the server, just double checked, is set to Central. That is how the email was sent.

Before I moved in, the people who lived in the next apartment over called the landlord on us once. Of course, this was 6am and we were drinking and had music playing, so in all fairness they were not out of line. It was the first and only time though.

So, we are going to fully remove the printer, driver and all.

      1. Go to Devices and Printers, right click and Delete the printer.
      2. Next, open a run prompt and type "printui /s /t2". If that doesn't work, use "rundll32 printui.dll,PrintUIEntry /s /t2". Find the 7520 driver and delete it.
      3. Uninstall all the HP software that was installed when the printer was first installed.
        Reboot.
      4. Now, download this link:
http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software12/COL43790/mp-108709-2/PS7520_Basicx64_1315.exe That is the HP Photosmart 7520 Windows 7 x64 BASIC driver, so not the full package with all the bloatware.
      5. Install printer.
      6. Try again.

Let me know how that works!
      Thanks,
      A.J.

Deleted the printer and attempted to delete the driver and it claimed to be in use. Removed the package originally installed with the printer and tried to delete the driver again and it still says in use.

@thanksaj I am currently in the laptop

      Can you ping the printer?

I'll check once I regain access to the machine. Note that the printer never shows as offline to the laptop.

Still, make sure you can ping it. I've seen statuses do some screwy stuff with printers mapped by IP.

I can ping it. Just regained access

Do a ping -a to get the hostname and confirm you are pinging the printer. HP will be HP and the serial number as the hostname by default.

The HP Photosmart 7520 returns on a ping -a as HPC5799A

Ok, so we at least know the IP is being used on an HP printer, so we can assume it's right. What driver it is using?

Driver name says HP Photosmart 7520 series, comes up UNIDRV.DLL and I can't find much of anything on date or revision. It's actually rather odd. The properties -> Hardware tab is completely empty. I found what info I have off of the 'Print server properties' header in Devices and Printers.

Maybe I don't deal with printers enough, but this seems a bit odd to me.

If you go to Printer Properties > Advanced, there should be a driver dropdown where you could select the driver to use. What does it have listed there, although I'm guessing it's the UPD?

It has the HP Photosmart 7520 series driver selected.

Ok. So it's the system-specific driver...was this printer working and it just stopped?

According to the user, The printer works fine on the desktop, aside from the fact that when he restarts the printer, it goes offline according to the desktop , and he needs to reinstall it to get it up and working again.  The laptop has been having issues this whole time.

So, just to make this crystal clear, it has NEVER worked correctly on the laptop?

He thinks he got something to print earlier in the week, but he doesn't sound too certain of that.

Yeah, but Join.me has a lot of restrictions on what it can access in Windows. LMI gets installed so it has much more accessibility.
So, after a process that was much more complicated than it should have been. I am now in LMI.
