Pull up your General Settings page, and under dialing options make sure to add Ww to both options fields if not already there. This might clear this up for you.

RE: VoIP One-way Audio and Voice dropsposted in IT Discussion
@coliver it is relatively easy to set STUN up on a phone at least and test that part.
On a side note, what is your PBX running in? I once tried running in Hyper-V and ran into a slew of problems with load and the NIC drivers.

Watched "Odd Thomas" last night... not bad for a comedy/horror thing. Not really that good though.
Oi, I really enjoyed that movie. I thought the actors were pretty good. The story could have used a bit of a polishing, but I felt it was a solid movie.
The primary actors did a really good job with that movie. Some of the secondary ones. though... The writing was iffy throughout the entire thing and you could see the "twist" from about half way through. Overall it was a C/C+ movie with a lot of promise. I would watch the sequel if it takes places when Odd is older and the theme is a bit darker.
Okay, Nothing you said I disagree with, so we can settle there. And I would be very interested in the sequel.

RE: Add Fax support to FreePBXposted in IT Discussion
Have you tried this? No experience firsthand with faxing with FreePBX. Usually I'd recommend Elastix for that. Has built in packages to accommodate faxing. Otherwise, try this:
yum -y install spanDSP libtiff libtiff-devel -

***Calling extension 201 from 202 (both connected to Rackspace PBX)
In this scenario, calls happen as expected, and the IAX2 channel usage is normal. So, with IAX2 channel usage being normal... There is none? From my understanding in a default configuration, you're running an IAX2 trunk between the two sites, but internal should be the default communication protocol (Which I cannot remember if it has to be IAX2 with that trunk or if SIP will suffice)
What type of extension are you using?

RE: Strange IAX2 Trunk Issueposted in IT Discussion
Sounds to me like it'll be something in the trunk settings the you have between the two

No particular use scenario. Just curious is all.

Port Forwarding- Very Quick questionposted in IT Discussion
Modifying some firewall rules so that all traffic on specific ports can hit the network where it needs to. If I remove the forward-to address on the port forwarding, will that allow traffic to go where it needs to?

VPN Solutions for Deskphone with internal PBXposted in IT Discussion
I am looking to see what solutions I can come up with for VPN to an external location from an internal PBX. the main problem I am running into is that I am looking to do this for a physical deskphone.
I know there are hardware VPN's available, but this solution will only be temporary and I would like to not have to fork over the expense for a one-time-use device like that. What other solutions might be available?

RE: Occasional Call failure report from Vitelity on Hosted PBXposted in IT Discussion
Well, they send the notification as though they are getting a channel unavailable response from the PBX. I'm looking to call them tomorrow but wanted to see if anyone had seen this before. I do not think it is the PBX either.
