I learned something very valuable last night - don't let Fedora server partition disks automatically. I set up a Nextcloud instance with a 3Tb disk. Fedora automatically set up the /root as 15Gb and left the rest in Never Never Land. I was going to use Gparted and move the partition but just started over. Sad part is I didn't check it sooner. I already exported and moved to another host. Lesson learned.

RE: Network in industrial environments
I installed a few of the wall racks with filters on the bottom and fans on top for exhaust like the ones Jared mentioned. Don't remember the brand or price. The equipment stayed very clean and cool. Hard part is remembering to change/clean the filters regularly depending on the environment.

RE: Intranet suggestions....
@tim_g Not trying to hijack this thread but I've always wanted a site for my side work and maybe a blog. I was looking a while back. Again....so many options.

RE: Intranet suggestions....
@tim_g I've been wanting to set up a Wordpress site for myself. A person could read for days and still not know what they want or how to get started. There are so many options and themes.

RE: Intranet suggestions....
I was looking to do something similar and was steered towards a Wiki (mediawiki, dokuwiki) for local content.

RE: Looking for stock of the EdgeRouter 4
@fuznutz04 Did not notice that. Now I really want some to swap out all the ERLs I have plastered everywhere.

RE: Looking for stock of the EdgeRouter 4
Aside from the specs, the rackmount capability is definitely a plus.

RE: Uses for VPS
I love PiHole. I run it as a vm locally at home. It amazes me how much it blocks.

RE: FreePBX and VOIP.MS
I was reading on the voip.ms wiki and thought the way you all are describing is the way it should have been done. I just was unsure on how to implement. I will make the changes.

FreePBX and VOIP.MS
I added 3 DID trunks to a FreePBX install over the weekend. I used @JaredBusch guide and had no issues. The guide shows adding 1 trunk. I set up each trunk individually and put the voip.ms username and password for each. Is that the correct way? I was not sure. They seem to be working fine and call quality is very good. I keep thinking I may have set it up incorrectly. I also changed the option in the account management to tell them I am terminating in a PBX.

RE: What Are You Doing Right Now
@wirestyle22 I always do exports to external drives as another disaster recovery copy and then take to another location.

RE: What Are You Doing Right Now
I've done a ton of exports in Hyper-V but no snapshots.

RE: Nextcloud scenario
@wirestyle22 I could do everything I need on this host with Powershell. I hate Hyper-V Manager on non-domain joined hosts. More trouble than it is worth IMO. I miss 5-Nine being free.

RE: Nextcloud scenario
Honestly, I've not used KVM but thought this would be a great learning exercise. Been using Hyper-V for years. I prefer it over VMWare and Xen.

RE: What Are You Doing Right Now
I guess most of us have been spoiled with Veeam and assume it should all be easy.

Nextcloud scenario
A friend has a small datacenter with the normal bells and whistles. We had a discussion where he would provide the rack space and a public IP etc. I provide a server and each of us a Nextcloud instance. No cost to us and I have physical access to the hardware. My go-to is Hyper-V 2016 and a NC VM. I thought about trying KVM (Fedora) and Fedora for the NC instances but there has been so much fuss on here lately about lack of backup options for KVM. My NC is on Vultr now as well as a few local installs. What do you guys and gals think of this scenario?

RE: What Are You Doing Right Now
Wondering why KVM is the flavor of the month but not for production because of backup options....

RE: Home Hardware Recommendations
ERL with an AC Lite AP at home as well as many clients. Zero issues.
