@dashrender The reason for the separate trunks is for separate billing for phone service. Granted it is a minimal amount, they still argue over who is paying for what. It is comical to me because they did not split the cost of the phones and the system itself.

RE: Ubiquity Security appliance
For normal firewalls I have the ER-Lite models deployed everywhere including my home. For places that needed the UTM functions I went with Sophos. I definitely have more ERs deployed. I have one client that is a large construction company. They tried everything including Cisco ASA (many different models) Sonicwall, Meraki, and some I don't remember. They constantly were having issues especially with VPN. I don't ever recommend those anymore after seeing the negative effects first-hand.

FreePBX outbound call routing
I have a scenario where a FreePBX system has 2 separate groups of users. Inbound calls are fine and routed to the appropriate persons (ring group) by the incoming DID. There is a separate voip.ms trunk for each of the user groups. My issue - I cannot figure out how to route each group out of a separate trunk for outbound calls. The main reason for this is so that if a person calls out from group A it will show the appropriate CID. Think of it as 2 separate companies utilizing the same phone system but wanting to keep inbound and outbound calls separate. Also, this is a small system. We are talking about less than 30 users total on the entire system. I know this should be simple and a basic task for FreePBX but I may be overlooking something.

RE: Surveillance Cameras and NVR
I have 5 separate systems now with a mix of G3 cameras. I have no complaints.

Wondering why there are still web forums that use Photobucket for images........

RE: What Are You Doing Right Now
I have Spectrum because with adsl I could only get 6Mbps. I get 60 over cable for the same price.

RE: Gaming - What's everyone playing / hosting / looking to play
My FIL plays Runescape and has since it started. I believe he pays for 6 - 8 characters and keeps up with all of them. It seems crazy to me. He is retired and that is literally all he does besides eat and sleep.

RE: Do we dislike Ubuntu
It has been a while since I have deployed Ubuntu Server with the exception of my Unifi Controller. I honestly did not try it on Cent or Fedora. I can't say that I ever had any real issues with Ubuntu. Years ago, it seemed very popular and that is most likely why I started using it.

RE: Install Nextcloud 13.0.0 on Fedora 27
I have a 2 Tb Nextcloud install on Ubuntu (16.04) from a couple years ago. I need to migrate everything to a new server using Fedora but a migration seems harder than it should be. Hopefully I will tackle it soon. I've not had any issues with Ubuntu but everyone here seems to dislike it.

RE: Install Nextcloud 13.0.0 on Fedora 27
@nashbrydges I had the same issue on a Fedora install. I created a 3Tb dynamic disk and had to manually partition Fedora to get the full disk for /. This was Hyper-V 2016.

RE: Looking for recommendations on the best UTM Firewalls for SMB's...
@nerdydad I use PiHole at home and it is great. SafeSquid looks pretty impressive. May have to fire these up in my lab and test them out.

RE: Looking for recommendations on the best UTM Firewalls for SMB's...
@nerdydad I agree 100%. Web filtering was the reason for the Sophos. For a school it works very well. What would you use for a filter behind a "normal" firewall?

RE: Looking for recommendations on the best UTM Firewalls for SMB's...
I tend to use Edgerouters everywhere I can. That being said - I have 2 Sophos UTMs because of the web filtering mainly. I realize you can put them in transparent mode behind another router but it seems pointless when it can do everything. The country blocking is another feature that works really well. If I needed just a firewall I would never consider them.

RE: Nextcloud OPCache warning
@black3dynamite That is why I just did a restart on the server. I restarted httpd and it did not change so a restart was the easiest for me.

RE: Nextcloud OPCache warning
I too had that issue recently. Installed php-opcache and did a reboot. All errors went away.

RE: Selecting a VPS Provider
@nashbrydges So far, all of the VPSs I have are light duty such as a Unifi Controller and general test servers. Most of them could be considered an off-site lab. I haven't had any noticeable issues yet. I can see your point though. I would definitely have different criteria for more important workloads.

RE: New Client - Windows 10 Upgrade Path
I would push them to purchase Win 10 Pro and an SSD for each machine. I fight people all the time trying to convince them to do an SSD swap. After they see the difference in performance, they regret not doing it sooner.

RE: Wordpress Widgets Disappearing
I have had issues with the "weather" widget multiple times and ended up removing it. It would never update. No issues with any others.
