    • RE: FreePBX responsive firewall

@JaredBusch Right. But once they are blocked/banned, the firewall drops the packets/stops responding altogether to that IP for the duration of the ban. At least then it stops them trying to register against SIP.

The responsive firewall really does wonders for those moving around on soft phones on their cell phones as well. (Always has a different IP address)

Agreed. Probably one of the best things for happen for VoIP security in a while. I set fail2ban to be extremely limiting for SIP attacks. After 2 or 3 failed attempts, your banned for a day. REALLY cuts down on attack attempts. 🙂

Yes, XOA is bundled with certs (autosigned but still).

      Anyway, doc is here: https://xen-orchestra.com/docs/configuration.html

I installed using the installation script below, so I didn't use the appliance.

      sudo curl https://raw.githubusercontent.com/scottalanmiller/xenorchestra_installer/master/xo_install.sh | bash

I'll take a look at that documentation and give see if that will make a difference and report back.

Even antivirus software are a pain with websocket protocols. That's why we recommend to go in HTTPS before going further in debug.

Is HTTPS supposed to be configured during the installation of XO? I cant connect if I try to connect via HTTPS. Are there instructions available regarding how to set that piece up? Thanks for your help!

It seems you have side issues with connection between you browser and the server. Are you in HTTPS?

No, I'm not using HTTPS. I've tried from both Safari as well as Chrome so far from multiple computers. I've also disabled the firewall completely on the XO box just to rule that out. Still having the same issue,

Opening Chrome developer tools gives me these messages when trying to either add the remote share.

mrfusion is the name of my desktop where the share is located. I also tried putting in the workgroup name in that field instead of the PC name.

We haven't seen anything. But they did charge me twice last month (they corrected it quickly).

Same for me. 2 identical charges, but they quickly reversed it.

    • RE: SharePoint Wiki examples

I like the ability of a OneNote document, hosted in SharePoint, but don't like the lack of organization of it. I like Wiki's for documentation, because you can browse the wiki, copy/paste to/from it without accidentally deleting content. Once multiple people have their hands on a shared OneNote, in my opinion, it just becomes to easy to accidentally delete something.

This switch looks great for my needs. about 8-10 VoIP phones.. https://store.ubnt.com/edgemax/edgeswitch-24-250w.html

But then again, so does this one, for the same price https://store.ubnt.com/unifi/unifiswitch-24-250w.html

Personally I stay away from the UniFi stuff.

I do not want mysterious magic on my networks.

The UniFi line brings in the "all or nothing" mentality that a lot of other vendors have.
I get why people like it but it also comes at a higher cost.

If UBNT would update their UniFi controller to accept SNMP or something from the Edge line to populate the screen instead of only working with UniFi, that would be awesome.

I've heard that concern before regarding the Unifi line of products. (the mysterious magic) It makes me nervous as well.

One selling point of the Unifi series is the built in Unifi controller for the WIFI units.

No, that is the UniFi Security Gateway (aka router) not the UniFi switch line.

      Oh right, my bad.

What PoE you need matters. Are you powering general things, or Ubiquiti devices?

Phones, drawings 9W max per line. The phones are 802.3af class 3.

    • Edge switches VS Ubiquiti switches VS other

What is the general consensus for EdgeSwitch VS the Ubiquiti Switches VS other switches such as a HP Procurve or Dell.

I use Edge Routers and have had zero problems, and am now looking at trying out one of their switches. Needs to have PoE capability. Small office, 10 people.
      The EdgeSwitch seems great LINK
But there is also the Unifi line as well. LINK

Then of course there are the other big players such as HP and Dell, but dollar for dollar, I bet the Ubiquiti stuff works just fine at a fraction of the cost.

    • SharePoint Wiki examples

For those of you who use SharePoint as a Wiki for internal documentation, have you found a good way to tag pages with tags as you would normally do on a blog post or on forums like this one? I'd like to have a cloud tag on the front page of the wiki to quickly navigate to common issues/pages. I would love to see some screenshots of some documentation sites & how navigation/topics are organized in a Sharepoint wiki. Would anyone care to share some screenshots?

SharePoint is not my favorite option for documentation, but it's included with our 365 subscription, and I'm trying to utilize it as much as possible.
