^_^ Hey, we can go anytime you want. I love burgers. Wish I could have a drink though
Just have a breath mint on your way back.
I try to never put myself in a position to need to lie but i hear you
Who would ever ask? Is that a regular question in the afternoon?
It's like never getting into an accident until you borrow your friends car. I'm just the type of dude to never borrow it lol. I only break the rules when i have absolutely no choice but to do so. That's why I'm here (mangolassi.it). I'm trying to figure out the right ruleset to follow to a degree

The wife is making some bruschetta now.

@scottalanmiller what's the ruleset for drinking at lunch?
Or I think @RojoLoco also has one.

I try to follow the rules set forth by Mad Men.

And this little piece of wisdom is for @Dashrender :
-
I thought you said you typically didn't drink at lunch, or that your palace frowned upon it.

No, my bosses don't care as long as I do my job... but I don't go full Don Draper at lunch, just a pint or 2.

Yeah, same here.
Well, maybe a pint or 4.
Or whatever (2) 22 ounce beers equates to.

My daughter stole some of my bruschetta.

What is company policy? Unless explicitly defined, there is no rule against it. Just because you have some preconceived notion of this, does not make it a fact.

Exactly. Not being allowed to drink at lunch is nearly unheard of. It certainly is out there, but it's not all that common. Especially in the NYC general area, it's expected that you drink at lunch. Especially as professionals.

When I worked at the bank we had some Texans that thought that it was unthinkable to drink a beer at lunch. So some of us from other regions would get martinis at lunch and started keeping bottles of gin on our desks and doing martinis in the office. They got the point.
-
I just don't drink at all and I'm perfectly okay with that.
-
The only jobs I know of that you can't drink on lunch are driving, manufacturing or production jobs. If you run a punch press or something that is a no no and usually spelled out in your company policy.

I've just never worked at a job where this was considered okay. It's not important enough to me to warrant trying
