The developer just released an update to reign in the Google apps permission set.
http://www.theverge.com/2016/7/12/12162868/pokemon-go-iphone-google-account-privacy-updateThat was yesterday
No, it was discussed yesterday, the 12th. The app was updated today, the 13th.
No, it actually updated on the 12th. My family plays and in the evening on the 12th their apps alerted and updated. My wife had already had everyone update the night before.

I was it the park playing kickball last night and groups of kids (kids like 18-21 years old) would walk right through the field. Pretty rude, but you gotta admit it's pretty adorable too, everyone standing in a little circle pointing their phones at the ground chasing cartoons.

Nope, just rude. A firm kickball upside the head would have quickly dispersed those arseholes.

that's right by where we had our last SpiceCorps!

Hopefully he is charged with the texting and driving crime. It is pretty strict in NY.

It's just been released here and yeah, I've got it and enjoying it so far, but obviously you can't stop being a functioning human, it's like anything - enjoy it if you want, it gets you out, I've already met 4 other people in my area through playing it, but don't be a F*cking idiot about it. Roads are still dangerous, there is still stuff going on in the real world...don't be a douche...basically don't spoil someone else's hobby just for your own!

But he wasn't texting. He was distracted. The texting law is a weird one that suggests that the distracted law has no teeth or that texting is not a distraction. NY has always had a no distracted driving law and that's what applies here.

Ah, I was curious about that. I knew there was a no distracted driving law but wasn't sure if the texting one was more or less harsh.

hands free is allowed, but has to be the type of system where you don't need to interact with your phone, i.e. putting the phone on loudspeaker is not allowed iirc

How is that different than anything else? Most US cars themselves are also mobile phones. Can you not have OnStar in the UK?

How can any system exist where you don't need to interact with the phone when the act of talking to it is interacting.

Steering wheel controls are considered "hands free" when paired with bluetooth.
So in this case it would be allowed. Which OnStar would have to be integrated into the steering wheel.

I guess because you don't look at the phone, so not distracted as much, and just press a button? who knows ahaha...
And never heard of OnStar?
