Veeam Endpoint Backup Rage
-
Righto, well it all started when I kept getting this error with failed backups:
Full backup file merge failed Error: There is no FIB [summary.xml] in the specified restore point. Failed to restore file from local backup. VFS link: [summary.xml]. ...
So Google results pointed me to running a Full Backup. Good stuff. Where is that hiding?
It's not in the interface. I really don't want to destroy my backup history because of one bit of software had a balls up.Eventually, after even looking into Powershell (Only works/installs where B&R is installed? wut?), I found that if you right click the icon in the system tray, you can run a Standalone full backup. That's right, IN THE DAMN SYSTEM TRAY and not in the interface.
From the Interface there is NO mention of even being able to run a non-scheduled backup. There isn't even any mention of running a restore job. Since when did the system tray icon become more important than the main GUI?
tl;dr
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

(all questions are rhetorical) -
Is this what you are looking for?

Nope. I was looking for a way to run a full back up, independent of the scheduled routine.
The method in your screenshot makes it scheduled, even if you don't select one of the recurrence options. This does not resolve the original issue that I had.

Sadly, things like this are not uncommon at all.
Look at the options that are available from the system tray icon of Outlook, but not in the main product window.

am i missing what you can do from the system tray of outlook?

Yes, that's what I eventually found.
