Getting 5 tons of coal tomorrow and getting it in our basement. We already had the first frost of the year a few days ago. Don't want to be doing this in -10 degree weather again. Then maybe a classic car show and a harvest festival afterward... depends if I can move or not.
I have about 1.5 tons of pellets left over and haven't bought any for this year yet. It might be time. Soon.

You need what my grandparents had, the truck backs up to the house and dumps the coal into the basement.

The person we get the coal from delivers, and he did deliver last year, but our auger system, that I built myself, just isn't fast enough for him. The next house we get, if we do coal, will have an outdoor coal bin that augers into the house.

That's great if you have a chute and a bin for it. I did bagged, so it was a dirty process of 2 bags at a time over the shoulder... off the pallet, in the house, down the steps, stacked on the pile, repeat.

Wow - Frost already ... jeeze

Weekend plans were to go to the local HamFest to see what I could come up with. I need some coax and other misc parts. However that was changed as I'll be solo for a football game and other normal tasks while my wife is off doing CE ... sigh what is point in planning something six months out if someone goes and changes it 3 weeks prior....

I'm thinking pork products and you're looking for coax and other odds and ends? What a dork... oh, wait. Ham radio.

Eh, it's the new norm. We've had frost in mid to late September as long as I've lived here. A few years ago we had frost on the last day of August!

You no longer need Morse Code for the Amateur Class license... Im not positive on the higher classes.
