Some may find the capacity very limiting.
It doesn't look like there is a way to increase this.

I think that both the sticks are USB.
Here's the USB connection from the first link:

In a form factor like this, I don't think you care about capacity beyond what you can currently buy. But I could be wrong.

This is much smaller than the OTG - Cloud I have. But similar principle.

Doesn't seem that useful to me.

I was reading the reviews of the OTG - Cloud, and one person's use case was to hold movies for road trips. They could be streamed to multiple devices at the same time.

Additionally - instead of paying ridiculous prices for high memory in an iPad/etc you use this as primary storage.

Yup, pretty much what I will do with it. It is also a external battery pack.. so I can sacrifice it to charge my phone.

I could see us using this. It is a neat idea.

One thing I think is cool about this would be something like a Go Pro (or any recording type device) sending it's data directly to the NAS while it's recording.

I've heard of stories about cops taking people's Go-Pros/recorders/whatever to destroy evidence. Not a huge deal in the US, but elsewhere, who knows.

Additionally, it gives you an additional backup.

Isn't that specifically where it is a big deal?

Unless you're being arrested, I'm not sure this happens in the US - but I don't know.

Isn't it when it is evidence to protect you that it is most important?

Cops in the US are known for taking cameras anytime that they want.

This happens all the time in the US.Definitely something you need to worry about here.
