Dell to sell Surface Pro
-
Microsoft also announced a 'Surface Enterprise Initiative' which aims to boost the take-up of the company's Surface Pro laptop/ tablet hybids in the enterprise.
The program involves a series of partnerships that couple the Surface Pros with enterprise services and support from other companies. Dell was today named the first partner under the program.
...
The company said HP, Accenture and Avanade were also expected to join the new program. -
Good, management here is married to Dell for everything... maybe we'll get some Surface Pros finally.

Dell venue tablets were £200 ish, full version of Windows 8.1 Pro and were really nice.
I worry this will affect them

I don't think it'll effect dell anyway but positively, many people and manufacturers are often slow to adopt new hardware because they're used to a specific mold.
If Microsoft has a way to push and promote new technology through hardware makers I think it's for the better.
Many people complain about the portability issues with many laptops, yet when offered a tablet they balk. Or want a tablet but think that they aren't capable enough.
This is a step in the right direction.

You think Dell will raise prices? I'm guessing they would lower them, if anything.

They'll do something, I just don't know what it is. Might be to discontinue the venue range and go all Microsoft Surface.

Yeah I was wondering how this would affect prices?

10.8" device - Dell Venue.
How do you users like this device? are they using a custom app that scales well on a display so small?
Or EHR is designed with a 20+ inch monitor in mind, yet the physicians want to carry around an iPad sided device to access it. The site is not finger/touch friendly in the least. While we do have a single physician using a Surface 3 Pro with our EHR, it's almost exclusively for viewing, not charting.
How do you use it?
