      That seem really tempting!

      No kidding.

            The study: https://www.nature.com/articles/s41598-018-20424-y

How much is 2.6 daily drink equivalents? Shot and a beer? Two shots? One Irish coffee?

In conclusion, the main finding of this study is that a low dose of ethanol, comparable to 2.6 daily drink equivalents (for a 70 kg person) per day, increases glymphatic function in mice, which is expected to facilitate clearance of metabolic waste and potentially toxic proteins from the interstitial fluid. This beneficial effect of light alcohol intake was linked to a decreased GFAP expression in astrocytes. We hypothesize that boosting of glymphatic function in combination with the reduction in GFAP expression might potentially contribute to the lowered risk for Alzheimer’s disease and non-Alzheimer’s dementia among individuals with habitually low but non-zero alcohol intake

@popester about 2 glasses of wine. Which is 2 "normal" beers or 2 shots.

                https://www.niaaa.nih.gov/alcohol-health/overview-alcohol-consumption/what-standard-drink

In the United States, one "standard" drink contains roughly 14 grams of pure alcohol, which is found in: 12 ounces of regular beer, which is usually about 5% alcohol. 5 ounces of wine, which is typically about 12% alcohol. 1.5 ounces of distilled spirits, which is about 40% alcohol.

In most countries, standard drive sizes are based around the standard drink equivalent. A shot of whiskey, a glass of wine, a glass of beer... all totally different sizes but the same amount of alcohol.

I can totally support our troops, but I'm not up for paying to have a parade. Put that tax money towards actually supporting our troops, give them better health care and other support that they need.
