The first point release of the LibreOffice 4.4 family has released. Check out the LibreOffice Blog for the details of LibreOffice 4.4.1.

Libre seems to have come a long way during it's development.
While there are 'interface' differences between it and say MS Word,.. 90% or more of it's functions are the same and can be a 100% replacement.
I use it here at home abstaining from the MS line - though I have the full MS line at work, and could install it as part of my O365 Pro.

If you are coming from the Office 2003 world, LibreOffice is actually far closer to that than Office 2007 and later are. It's basically a continuation of the old 2003-era interface before MS went to the ribbon.

By functions, I think he meant things like Excel functions and such.

@JaredBusch
I forget that Excel has functions I was thinking over all - as an application.
