Why are we still cracking on IE? MS has admitted it sucks and moved onto Edge. I have no idea if it's better, but MS isn't pushing IE anymore - in fact, they are doing everything they can to pull away from it. Not in the start tray, not in the Start menu, etc.
Edge sucks just as badly, or worse. Besides, I love to bag on IE, because we still have to use it here. When a user asks me something browser related, I always answer "it didn't work because IE is garbage, always has been. But since you aren't allowed to use a real browser for this, let's take a look..."
I extend this to microsoft desktop OSes
Meh, windows works fine until a stupid user gets their hands on it. I've never experienced any of the alleged "issues" with running windows for the past 20 years, ergo I don't really give a frig about Linux.
This is my POV. I think Windows is great. It's all the shit people put on it that turn it into crap!
I can't say that's true or not true for Linux. I'd have to find normals who are willing to use Linux, give them local admin rights (so they can install any shit they want to) and then see if they can even find the shit they want to install that often causes all of these problems.
Like emoticon add-ons, greeting card makers, etc.
If those things don't need to be installed because they are already part of everything the user wants to use, fine, great even.
