PSU suggestions

I'm looking at replacing the PSU in my PC at home as the bearings in the fan are shot & the noise is annoying the crap out of me (have to tilt my pc to keep the fan quieter for longer).
I'm looking at a Seasonic G-Series 550W 80PLUS Gold. Doesnanyone have any experience with Seasonic?
My main reason for looking at this is because Seasonic design, manufacture and sell their PSU's while most PSU brands don't (to me, that inspires confidence).
I currently have a Silverstone 600w. I don't think that I need any more than a 550w.

I don't have any experience with them, but from the reviews it gets good ratings.

I like Rosewill PSUs that are 80 PLUS Gold certified. That's what I use almost exclusively and have been VERY happy with them.

I've heard good things about Seasonic, but because of the good service we have experienced we usually purchase Corsair or Thermaltake.

@scottalanmiller My bad, didn't see this. @nadnerB Looking for a 550W or larger, huh? Well, how important to you are things like Modular Cables, Efficiency, and Fan Noise levels? I would recommend a Corsair, EVGA, or Silverstone PSU, I've had very good experience with all of them (Especially the EVGA, but you tend to have to pay a bit of a price premium for them). I've used Seasonic three times now, and one of them failed after about six months. They get really good reviews generally, and supposedly are very stable and have long lifespans, so I would say I just got an odd case with mine.

Seasonic is great, IIRC they were deeply involved with PC Power & Cooling which is another great company.
I personally use a Seasonic 80+gold 800w at home. Expensive but it'll last for another 5 years easily (it's already 4 years old)

Corsair, Thermaltake and Antec have always been my favorites. Look for models with brushless, large fans.

@Mike-Ralston I'm not super fussed on modular design. It's pretty but I don't enter case building comps. I'd like it to be as quiet as possible. The current one, when under load, sounds a bit like an idling 2 stroke.
I'm tempted by the Corsair CX600M 600W 80PLUS Bronze but I am not sure about the actual real-world-effieiency vs the words on the box

@nadnerB The efficiency rating, 80+ Bronze, means that it's at least 80% efficient at 100% load. Every PSU I've used from Corsair has been an entirely hassle free and satisfying, and I can highly recommend any of their CM/CX/RM/AX PSU models from experience.

This PSU seemed to be a better unit than one of the other PSUs that I looked at. Research indicates that this unit comes out if the Chicony factory and I've heard good things about them.
