Scott is just weird. That's all. Those are movies that "artsy" people care about (not sure about 6th Sense...) and have seen. I've seen zero of them, but I've seen a ton of movies that he hasn't, cause they're MAINSTREAM. Mainstream is listening to AC DC and Garth Brooks and eating at McDonald's. Watching some movie that was something special to some stuff-shirt in Australia and eating at gourmet Asian restaurants is not mainstream. You also can't get any more mainstream than Journey. While Coldplay may have had (or still have) big sales, from my own personal perspective, I just don't see them nearly as much of a mainstream band as some of the others listed, at least not where I am from. If you turn on a local station, you are going to hear more Journey than Coldplay, guaranteed.
Can I upvote this 1000 times?!

Say what you will about Peter Garrett's dancing (he actually moves to the music), there is now denying the power of Midnight Oil's music...and I especially love how on most (if not all) songs, the band sings along...

Up until the last federal election, he was our Environment Minister.

I may not have agreed with Peter 100% but I totally admire him getting into politics...he went after what he believed in...love that...
I just wish the Oil's would come back again...:) They need a proper farewell, as does R.E.M. ...and speaking of which, I always thought this was a creative video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0vqgdSsfqPs

Not where I live. I don't recall ever hearing Journey on the radio.

On a good portion of the radio stations here you get lots of classic rock and country. There are a few other stations but most if you listen for an hour you will hear journey at least once.

From what I've seen, this is overall very true...

For the months of November/December, I am THAT person - it's all Christmas music. Trans-Siberian, Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra, Michael Buble, and others - my personal favorites of all the various versions of each Christmas song. I love Christmas music.
Any other time, I'm listening to Sirius in my car - and mostly switching through my favorite bands as they pop up on the playlist: Bon Jovi, The Eagles, Maroon 5, Buble, Journey, America...in between, I go back and forth from 70's classic rock to 80's stuff and 90's stuff. I tend to miss a lot of the new stuff that is released until @NetworkNerd forces me to listen to it in the office (he controls the music while we are at home, for some reason). I'm highly allergic to Taylor Swift and twangy country music.
Also, why are the Youtube videos in this thread so large?

The nice thing about this interface is that it allows you to embed the video link into the post, so you can watch the video from ML without having to go to YouTube and leave this site.
Also, not that I ever cared for it to begin with, there is NO music I hate MORE than Christmas music...idk if you've ever worked retail in your life, but if you work retail, depending on where you work, you are subjected to non-stop Christmas music for anywhere from 1-2 months, and it leaves a bad taste in your mouth...

@thanksaj Spent many years working retail, and Christmas music seasons were always my favorite!!!! LOL
Also, I was asking about the videos not because it's a bad thing, but they are really huge on my screen so it took me forever to navigate this thread. Just wondered why they weren't smaller, kind of like embedded videos on FB.

Just how the frames are built I guess. FB has two sidebars, one on each side. Then they size the videos down really small. There aren't any of those limitations here.

Nicer to watch them big. Who wants tiny videos like FB? I always have to pop those out and watch them elsewhere. Tons of work.

I like Christmas music too. Living in FL you need ALL the Christmas cheer you can get!
