Solved How can I turn off auto centering in LibreOffice Calc?
-
Every time I click a cell it automatically centers to that cell. That is extremely annoying when you have a very wide field. Is there anyone to turn this off?

Do you have Column A locked so when you scroll everything else moves and A is hidden? Or is that filter on A only to find numbers etc?
It's just the behavior of a normal workbook. Nothing hidden or locked (from my experience anyway). If the column you want to edit extends off the right edge of the screen it moves the window to try to make the whole column visible.
Not that it's relevant really, but I don't see a way to turn it off in Excel either.

Is this just in 1 document or every brand new document? I don't have this problem with LibreOffice Calc, there is no formatting selected at all.
Do you have the paintbrush selected?

Must be an older version of LibreOffice. I believe @IRJ is using Ubuntu 18.04 LTS.

@black3dynamite In any case, not installing Ubuntu Desktop 18.04 LTS to troubleshoot this. . .

This this latest version in Ubuntu Software Center. Default repository

@IRJ Yeah because LTS means they are only going to offer you security patches (if that).
-
Install the current version from the libreoffice website rather than the Ubuntu App Center.

Yep, but like I said this isn't an ancient version. This is not the type of change that they make in a security update.

I may try from this repository. I want to ensure I am able to updated automatically.
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:libreoffice/ppa

Which again, you didn't answer my question. You just showed an example of you using the Format Painter function instead of actually reading the question.
Centered looks like this
Not centered looks like this

Not centered looks like this
That isn't my issue. Expand the size of the columns to match my example.

Centered centers on the cell, so what the hell are you asking?

Before I click to Column D
When I click on column D it moves the view to the center of column D
