Do you guys use their VM level backup service. If you do, how do you like it?

Using backups for 2 Fedora servers running Squid. I haven't restored yet, as they are still new and in testing. I will be trying that prior to putting into production. I also use the snapshots. Those, I can say, work well. I have used them as a sort of cloning function to create an additional server.

Depends on the workload, but yes. Quite often. Works fine.

I use the automated backups. set to daily. You only get two versions, but I have restored a PBX from it before.
I have also spun up a new instance from a backup and from a snapshot.
I also have a JitsiMeet server I build on Vultr, then made a back and deleted the instance.
I spin up a new instance whenever I need to use it and then delete the instance again. SO I have no ongoing costs as I only need it a few times per month.

I like that idea.

I’ve used this as well. It has worked great in my experience.

times .... whatever the count is now.
works well and restores fine.

But is crash consistent. So don't get cocky, it doesn't deal with open files, it can't, as it is just a snapshot.

This isn't exactly related to OP's post...
It would be nice if there was a "clean & easy" way to "migrate" your vm's from Vultr to say a co-lo. -

If you use normal backups like Veeam, it's easy, too. Same with any platform, platforms don't make lock in, that comes from how it is set up. It's as easy to go from Vultr to colo as from anything else to colo.
