I used to use Cygwin for this, but that's really a big amount of overkill for just an ssh client.

How can I copy and paste?
I guess that's new to me. with linux servers/Has nothing to do with Linux, it's 100% about Windows and the app (Putty in this case) that you are using. Your copy and paste functions are completely inside Windows in the way that you are using it. If you used Putty to connect to another Windows box, it would be identical. If you were using Linux to Linux, or Linux to Windows, then you'd need to know the copy/paste for Linux and or the Linux app you were using.
Most times that people think Linux is hard, it's on the Windows side that the mistake or complexity is.

right now im using my work computer through the vultr ssl before i leave for avoca.No Putty at work? Enable Cockpit (likely on by default) to give you far better access even via web only.

I typed out the entire command here people. GO to 'what are you doing right now' and you can see the screen shotIf you did not have httpd, then no, you did not.

I actually ran it 3-5 times.
and retyped it
and then retyped it again
and re ran it again,
multiple times
then it finally did something so I thought it had gotten everything.Copy and paste is your friend. You should have a terminal or ssh client that allows you to paste test into its window, if not, change what you're using.
Using PuTTy.
It wouldnt let me copy and paste, don't know if i did it wrong.Putty uses Right Click to paste to make things faster.
I will have to try that again later this evening.
right now im using my work computer through the vultr ssh before i leave for avoca.No Putty at work? Enable Cockpit (likely on by default) to give you far better access even via web only.
we dont 'need' putty at work. there's no SSH connections that we do here, no reason for putty, I use putty at home ( from back when I was getting on the jump.lab for NTG learning)

SSH for Putty (Putty is also the best Telnet client for your legacy stuff), SSL is more general and you are using it right now.

Cockpit makes it so that you don't need Putty, but aren't going through the console like with Vultr's console.

Copy and paste using the native OpenSSH client on Windows 10 1803 works well.

correct; I knew what I meant, I just didn't type it out the right way.
I was meaning SSH (Secure Shell of course - not Secure Socket Layer. )
