Solved Cant communicate

We have Machine 1 is trying to access an SMB share on Machine 2 in Windows xp/Windows 7 (Using both OS )
Getting this error:
****You might not have premissions,Contacted server Administrator to find out if you have premissions.Network path not found.****
We have tried everything we can think of:
-
Firewalls are set correctly
-
Set to the same Work group: "WorkGroup"
-
Nodes match: both are running Hybrid
-
*Static Ips
-
*Sharing is enabled on back of house computer and front of house
-
Can "see" on network in WorkGroup and
ping
the computer on back of house
Our Client (the restaurant manager who called) wont tell us exactly what he did so now we have to figure this out. They say they replaced the switch but Im thinking its not a switch.
Is there anything else i can check on the devices?
This is an issue my boss needed a fresh set of eyes on, and I checked everything he checked and then some.thanks

Apparently re-imaging the PC fixed the issue...
-
In the Log file I see this... is this anything?
Jun 04, 09:14:32, [4752], [SEVERE],,"Fatal error: WARNING: Network name unexpectedly de-registered. Make sure SYNCTIME is not running on a combination Master Terminal/BOH Fileserver. Also verify network cable connection, some network cards require a reboot if physical connection is lost."
-
First thought is the Firewall - but you stated that it was set correctly.
A Switch - unless it is programmed to do so won't affect this.
is File/print sharing turned on, and permissions granted to the user/computer?

Yes, That was the first thing I checked

This was the second thing.

Based on your error
Network name unexpectedly de-registered
(link) this is all I found to be closely relevant.. -

...Some network cards may have to be restarted
I restarted the PC about a dozen times..
That would have restarted network cards,, right? -

That would have restarted network cards,, right?one would expect so - only over way would be to completely powercycle everything.
one other note - what is your time sync? are they getting a good time?

Back office was set to Sync with Internet. None of the terminals are set to do so.. I shut that off,

I'm just brainstorming here so take that with a grain of salt lol. You said everything is set to static ip's. could an ip be the issue, as in something having a wrong ip set?

quick verification shows that everything is set to the correct (documented) IP address.

combination Master Terminal/BOH
There can be only one. It sounds like you have two terminals trying to be Master Terminal. Turn off the peasant terminals see if the Master returns.

Troubleshooting needs to be done in a logical manner.
You want to verify things by testing and excluding things that work.
It might take forever to find something if you do it by checking things haphazardly. -

-
@wrcombs Yeah this is an ongoing issue and from previous thread it does sound like he has troubleshooted logically in my opinion.

You might not have premissions,Contacted server Administrator to find out if you have premission
Start with, can you ping it (by IP.)

Yes.

Do you have windows firewall enabled on the machines? In that case disable it.
