Printer Issue

Can you do a print test page?
Is the printer set as the default printer? -
Instinctively, I just want to downvote this post, because I hate printers so much.

Power cycle the printer itself, even though some user can print to it I have seen a power cycle fix weird print server issues
-
Now we have people having printer issues all over the building. I hate printers.

Instead of
\\server-dns\printshare
, try\\server-ip\printshare

Ok I finally got a test print to work, from the Print Server it's self.
But still can't print from the desktops.
All the printers that are down are the same model.

Check event viewer. I would probably go in to the printer manager and delete the drivers for that printer and reinstall them.

Is this printer connected to a Fiery Print server?

No, just a normal 2012 R2 print server. Very vanilla.

I assume someone has dug through the event logs on this old 2012 r2 server, yes?
-
I had a similar issue with a Cannon before. Check these two things.
- Make sure the printer doesn't require the UFR II driver rather than the PCL or PS.
- Also, I know it sounds dumb but verify the ip settings. I had an issue where the IP was getting dhcp but the default gateway was static and set to itself.
You could also try installing it on your pc (bypassing the printer server) as a test and see if you can get it to print successfully.
Hope that helps.

Thank you for the help guys. I am going to get back to this tomorrow. Tonight is gig night!

Are the printers being pushed out via Group Policy? If that's the case it could be pushing out the incorrect driver.
Wouldn't that affect all the machines though not just these 3 ?
It should yes.
Agreed - but it depends on the GPO update/apply cycle.

If you rolled them with a static address instead of DHCP with a reservation, there is a possibility of a duplicate IP address on the network. That will cause symptoms like you are having.
These printers have been there a while. so - while I agree this is possible, it is unlikely the case.
