My boss asked me to try to find replacement for some of the software we use.

      Ticketing: Connectwise
Opinion: Connectwise is way too convoluted. Getting anywhere takes too long. Customers don't want to use it at all. I was thinking we could use OSTicket but I wanted to ask anyway just to get your opinions.

      RMM: Solarwinds N-Central
Opinion: The one thing my boss will not part with.

      Accounting: Quickbooks
Opinion: I haven't really looks into anything for accounting so this is out of my wheelpark. They seem to be happy with QB, but I'm sure there is much better out there.

      Asset Management: Sort of Connectwise
      Opinion: Snipe-IT?

Sales & Marketing: Considering Salesforce but I have no experience here either. @BRRABill might know

Addition: Currently my company uses a group text to notify each other if they will not be in the office, etc. My boss was asking if there is a better way to deal with that specific problem in a centrally managed kind of way. I
m a little murky on this but I was thinking Rocket Chat? It functions similarly but is centrally managed.

I don't think there is a good ticketing system. They are all pretty terrible and lack specific functions.

Open source doesn't necessarily mean free, but Paid or Free. I'm just looking for a good product.

We use SolarWinds Web Help Desk. It does good for Asset Management and Tickets. The only problem we have is getting the users to use the email part of the ticket correctly.

However, they're marketing is a little bit harassing. They keep changing people like they change toilet paper, nobody reads the notes of the accounts, and they just begin email blasts to about anybody and everybody just so they can sell their products.

I have heard the same thing. I can't get my boss to move from Solarwinds. He has an infatuation with the company for some reason.

And by "harassing" he means "openly criminal." They are crooks and I'd never let their stuff in the door, no way you can trust them. They are a completely unethical organization with ties to others who act similarly. I would feel that on security ground, they'd be something no one could use.

We've been using Zoho Desk for just basic ticketing for one of my teams and so far its been working well. They have the full ServiceDesk product if you want the whole RMM.inventory experience but watch out their sales group gets very aggressive

Another thing I'll add to the list is:

As in what, a group text goes directly to the people that need to know. Same as a group email. I know I wouldn't want my phone buzzing at whatever hour saying "out sick" via multiple channels.

He just said centrally managed. Accessible via mobile device. Everyone here has a smart phone, either samsung galaxy or iphone. I thought rocket Chat might fit the bill.
