Fake Wall or Wall Closet?

@nerdydad I think just cable management in general would clean this up a lot. Get some velcro cable ties and go ham. I personally have to have everything extremely neat. I am OCD about everything I do in relation to that though. I even do specific patch cable colors for specific things, but that's just personal preference.

Why don't I just get a mural of Hawaii or something on them?
Because everyone can go to Hawaii, not everyone gets to go into Amazon's Data center. . .

Or maybe print this if you prefer the blue lighting.

Real data centers want to hide that they are datacenters. Little data closets want to pretend to be more than they are

So, this is the telecom wall of my server room.
The CFO wants us to clean up the server room and have it more aesthetically pleasing. We have a plan for the server and switch racks, but this wall is just an eyesore.
I thought about a wall of cabinet doors that is about 6" to 1 foot away from the real wall and would be all open on the inside. The boss shot that down and wants some kind of fabric blind on both sides of the ladder and would fold out to cover the middle. He also wants to throw the logo on the fabric blinds.
Any suggestions?
There's just so much shit on that wall there's really nothing you can do except hang a blanket in front of it all. A short one up top, and another to get hte rest below the ladder.
I wouldn't build anything there...
-
Put a little window in the door that has a picture of a neat closet
-
Personally, I'd leave it as is... it's a telecom closet, who cares.

I think the boss' idea was basically a nice blanket. It's really a decent solution. A simple screen that still allows air flow, but dampens some noise and blocks the view.

Not really worried about noise as the louder servers are right behind me. The idea here is more for aesthetics than noise. I really don't care. The network is functioning and it is easy access. Like Tim_G said, its a telecom wall. Who cares what it looks like?

Any way we can see how you get into the server room (and if there are windows). With what is provided I don't think anyone can really give you "great advice" for something like this.
The approach of just putting up a curtain is exactly like sweeping the dirt under the rug.

Looks like these guys have all kinds of custom curtain solutions and can even print a logo for you. No experience with them... Just google-fu

I was thinking something more along the lines of this: https://www.target.com/s/fire+resistant+curtains

Maybe a hammock or two as well? A beach cabana?

Hey if there's room, why not?

@tim_g ha.
