Microsoft Revenues Doing Well Thanks to Cloud and Office
-
Even with Surface sales lagging and the Windows Phone failing (lots of news on these two items today), Microsoft has released strong quarterly numbers because their Office and Cloud divisions (that's MS Office, Office 365 and Azure) are kicking butt and taking names. Their LinkedIn division did decently well, too. For those wondering about many Microsoft decisions like making Windows 10 nearly free or pulling back on other OS investments, this is why. The money is in applications and hosted services (and ads) and not in the operating system and this will be more and more true in the future.
