      Hi All,

I'm looking for some ideas on how to provide a digital phone list that can be updated (by say the Receptionist) by going to a basic website, providing some login details, and then emailing out a internal URL.

      Any ideas?

        @DustinB3403

        Office 365 using excel?
        Google Docs using sheets?

This is not "simple" at all. It is a basic web application. with all that entails.

Set a password on it that she'd have to enter to be able to edit the data... otherwise you'd have a free-for-all, lol.

                All that entails:

                • Pick a database format: csv, xml, nosql, relational
                • Pick an authentication method
                • Pick a language to use for the web view: PHP, ASPX, etc.
                • Make the web view and edit views
                • Pick a language to handle the form return to update the database
                • Pick a method to email the web view
                • Decide how to store email addresses in a list.
                • Etc.

@DustinB3403 Then end result will be something very basic, but getting there is anything but.

Yeah I'm not really settled on any such solution or end product.

I was thinking along the lines of a phone list display.

Great idea, not arguing that. Just not "simple" to implement.

What kind of phone system do you have? Why not use something like FOP2? That way the phone list is always up to date. If you're using FreePBX you can write a script to output a phone list nightly.

                          FOP2

At the moment a very old black box, a newer system is in progress (under investigation for options). So any solution at the moment would be pulled from the existing system and hosted say on screenly (or some such service.)

FOP2 is a great choice for a viewable panel. but it is not a list for quick reference.

I keep 3 tabs open with FOP2 most of the day. 2 clients and our phone system.
