I blog occasionally, its been good for me the few times I've done it, as it's a mental release for the bullshit that goes on in the day to day operations.
And it passes wisdom and insight to a particular situation. This is my blog.

I read Scott's blog but am not at the level to really offer my opinion. I may one day though.

Not talking about the crap user stuff. More of like ServiceA crapped the bucket, and with little documentation out there, I fixed it by doing X.

To each their own, I blog about the issues, and resolutions to them regularly. If you have the desire to only blog about a one-off unique case you're welcome too.
I started my blog with the same intention, but found it wasn't useful to myself or anyone else. So I adjusted to fix and issue and my complaints to what brought up the issue.

Wordpress? Worth the extra time writing? More kinda in brain dump mode right now trying to figure it out. Anyone else besides SAM?
I plan to put more stuff on my blog, typical things you run into. PowerShell and *sh snippets, a few things here and there etc. Also recently started with an Hyper-V article on starwindsoftware.com. But I'm a bit short of time at the moment for a couple of reasons.

Blogs aren't very useful for that type of stuff. That's why I gave up and closed my blog that did that. I moved the content here.

I've been having a discussion here at work on the difference between blogging and writing articles. And which is more appropriate for generating business.

What's the difference?
I consider blogs like quick, witty stuff. As opposed to the longer more substantial article you write.

So what was the verdict?

Using proper keywords on forums is good. Unless you are experts exchange. More sites just need better SEO.

Those are status updates, the medium does not matter.

Huh? Are you calling blogging a medium?

Besides SAM, quite over there. Who else blogs about IT? I was debating starting a IT Blog/KB since the pain that I endure, I would like to help others out. Like Spiceworks but on a more Proactive level. Working for an MSP, you are thrown at a lot of stuff, even the things the vendor has no documentation on ahem....Teams.....
Wordpress? Worth the extra time writing? More kinda in brain dump mode right now trying to figure it out. Anyone else besides SAM?I think that, if you blog, you need to be able to write. From this post alone, I can clearly see that you may lack in a fundamental skill. It's a good thing that the Internet is here to help you!
