Just installed Hyper-V Server 2016 and told it to check for updates.

It has been pulling a perfect 10mbps. I am in a colo with a 100mbps line.

So I popped my laptop behind the ERL also and downloaded CentOS 7 Minimal r1611. Boom full pipe.

Never seen that before, but it would not be totally surprising. I should pay attention sometime when doing them.

There are only 3 updates. And I have been standing here for what feels like an eternity.

Get-NetAdapter shows 1gbps link on the physical and 2 gbps on the team.

            Okay, was not MS.

Server finally started installing and is now rebooting but the data is still coming in.

Not sure what it is though. Well, I assume it is a backup from somewhere else, but none of those should be running at this time normally.

/sigh more things to do that I did not plan on doing while here tonight.

I definitely haven't had a cap while downloading updates, I'm pegging my 100 mb down pipe.

Right, but then the sad thing is why was the download taking so long if I was only seeing the backup running.. F'n windows update process.....

yep.. the process lies about what's going on.. I think there must be some type of post download processing going on, but it's still listed at downloading, but the network speed shows no download happening.
