Preparing for the storm
-
We are safe
-
We got really lucky that the storm weakened and went offshore a bit at the last minute.
At one point they thought it was gonna hit us directly as a category 5, but when it was all said and done it was a category 3 and it stayed offshore a little bit.
There's damage and flooding, but it could be worse. I gave no idea how bad my house is, but about 50 miles inland it isn't too bad.

Good to hear -
When will you be able to return?
-
I'd wait and see if Matthew is going to make a second pass like is expected or not before trying to go back.
-
We are so lucky! Thanks John P. Hoover for taking these pictures. No real damage! No flooding!
If that tree fell the other way we would have lost our entire house. That tree is only 10 feet from our house.
Sending pics to @scottalanmiller . I don't have pc access at the moment

Great news!!
-
Glad to hear that the house remains.
-
That tree must have known better than to fall on your house. Glad it all worked out.
-
I don't see any fallen tree pictures, where am I not seeing these....

Looks like that tree had a crummy root system where as PT Cruisers are completely rooted, right from the factory.
