          Just took the kids down to the Pacific Ocean for the first time. They got in and got all sandy but they had a great time.

                              OK this one was my fault - but of course the complete lack of basic troubleshooting just astonishes me. Plus the fact that the down site loves to call EVERYONE except the one person who's job it is to fix these issues.

                              The fault was that I removed a bunch of equipment from the location last night and must have unplugged the cable modem from the firewall while doing so. Plugged it back in, and tada, everything worked.

                              As for my troubleshooting comment - I have them walk through this equipment every time they have an issue, yet still they don't bother to check before freaking out.

                                    Never admit you broke something ! You were performing a disaster test.. 😄

                                    Yea,.. been there and done that. (xxx) doesn't work. Did you check with everyone else? Uhmm... No.

                                      I flip a light switch the other day in our IDF for one of the Plants, I instantly took out the whole Plant on the network. Yep it through the breaker and since use large (40kva) UPSes they are behind the breakers!

                                          Just had dinner. The kids are heading down to the pool for a bit and I'm staying behind to be able to concentrate on work without so many interruptions.
