Eclipse is visible here now.

I just retired my 8 year old Drobo Pro. What should I do with it?
What sucks is that it's only usable as a iSCSI device, not as a NAS device.

@quixoticjeremy NJ DMV is bad too, a lot of wait times every single day!
It drives me nuts!

Watching the eclipse.
I'm in the 98% coverage area, so I keep checking periodically. We hit peak in about 20 minutes.

Nope - Completely gone. There was a lot of fine dust in the can... Of all the drives I've torn down over the last thirty years,... this is the worst ... by far. I think all the platters I have (supper glued into a single stack) are still 'prestine'
That says some amazing things about those drives that the head was physically GONE before it quit working!

I'm not sure how long it was still powered before being taken offline. and looking more at it,.. All FOUR heads are gone.. to that level or more.

Nearly the full limit of our zone... about to take the kids out again..
-
Our max ended about 26 mins ago. Sadly a rather thick layer of clouds here.
-
@dashrender If it's any consolation, it was barely noticeable here.

with glasses, you could still easily see the sliver as it moved around the moon. We maxed at 98% coverage. it was brighter than dusk still at that time, but noticeably less bright than normal.
Of course the cloud cover also played a role in how dark it was compared to normal.

I was literally three blocks north of total coverage here in St. Louis. I did get to see the shadow bands on the ground. I got videos of those and I will post them later.

Nice, we got a bunch of clouds here at the peak time for coverage, I got some pictures of it, and blindness.
