I went to the local Spicecorps meeting last night... 3 attendees. But I did win the door prize... a 3 pack of Ubiquiti WAPs, complete w/ the latest FW and a thumb drive w/ Unifi controller software.

It really is. Because the support contract on the free Meraki WAP expires in a couple of weeks. So the company can buy 1 from me.

I did that recently and said "Whoa, this is way nicer than I had thought."

I feel like New Mexico is a model train layout come to life.

You never lived in the Armpit of America aka Carlsbad, New Mexico. Where there are no AC's, but evaporative coolers, cell service sucks, doctors are stuck in the 1950's, and the water is too brine to drink. Almost too brine to wash clothes/dishes in and to cook dinner with.
Don't get me wrong. Its pretty to visit, but not pretty enough to stay.

I grew up with brine water.

UGH I HATE OWA!! So limited in what I can see on a page have to open 3 separate pages to get anything done (well actually it's 9 separate pages, for 3 email accounts). Today is going to be one VERY LONG DAY!
I am having Office issues I can't activate anything. So I also can't use my office aps either on my desktop or online today. DRIVING ME NUTS!

I set up KMS in November and just recently fixed/eliminated the last of the false KMS hosts from the network. The previous admin has used the KMS activation server key on VDI guests instead of setting up a single KMS host server and using the keys from appendix A on the guests. Our DNS literally had over a hundred KMS server listed and no one was getting software activations properly.
I wish you the best of luck in your quest to achieve license compliance if you're not using a KMS box.

Plus you might not have enough users - and KMS assumes LAN type access (yes it can work on VPNs - and hackers have setup KMS server on the internet before that you can manually config your computer - but those are not the intention.)

Just thought about a new project, a DIY kitchen radio. Our beloved 25 years old Siemens radio died a few days ago. It's still working, but some buttons are broken. We already tried 4 or 5 different radios, but all of them aren't good for one reason or another.
So, what makes a good kitchen radio in 2017?
- VHF / UKW (ultra-short range, standard in Europe / Germany) radio
- Play radio streams
- Easy to use timer / alarm
- Would like to stream from Android / iPhone to the radio (we likes to listen to music and audio books when we're preparing the meal for example).
- Display w/Clock
- Low power consumption
Additional ideas?
