And the wife is making coffee

This is a funny one.... guy asks how to do something and after eight posts trying to explain how to do it (most of the posters were pretty confused and answered a question that wasn't asked) I asked "why" and immediately he's like "never mind, I figured out I don't want to do this." LOL

Copying files from the old hard drive... Looking for a suitable replacement laptop and wondering if I really need it. Do I want a 2 n 1 again, or just a simple laptop. ASUS, Dell, ACER, ,...or...Hmmm..
Oh, look, a quarter...

Converting 10k+ old doc files(some are word 95 format!) to pdf. Some with password protection. Ugh.
-
No fun there. I need to convert some documents as well. With the ADF on the HP I have it makes it easier. Digital file it to the NAS right off the bat.
-
I found this program that will convert doc files to docx, then to pdf. Even works on the pw protected files, it just pops up a pw prompt. So i let it run and every few minutes check to see if i have to enter teh pw in. all the pw for the docs are the same and it was put there to make it harder to mess up the doc. Some of these docs are 20 years old.
