:(. It snowed over night. First snow this year and we never got a heavy frost at all this year!!
Yep we had a dusting this morning as well, and at 4AM this morning my dog went and rolled around in it. . .
Mine didn't want to go out we had to shove him out the door
-
We got maybe an .5-1" last night and it is still coming down this morning. Some spots were a white out on my way in to work.

What kind of dog do you have? I've got a 14 lbs malteepoo who realized it had snowed, and immediately started rolling around in it. . .
As if we deprive her of snow! (her favorite toy)

Hah, our two Golden Retrievers are the same way. They love the snow.

He is a mutt Westie and something that is also Terrier. But he is only about 8lbs. and gets cold easily.

we have typically another month before we get snow.
-
Oh getting snow anytime around October 15th is about normal here. So a little later this year.

What's really odd is that we normally get a lot of very heavy frosts leading up to the first snow fall. I think we had one mild frost this year so far.

EXACTLY!! We usually have the same and we haven't had anything at all. A little frost on car windows for the first time yesterday but not an actual frost.

NICE! - And Monday you'll be in Texas... man season shock!
-
We've had a few mild frosts. The hard frost do start around now.
FYI, it' not unheard of for us to have snow this early, just unusual. and it definitely seems less frequent than when I was a kid. Trick or treating for me was many times in 2-8 inches of slow and in the low to mid 20's.

I had frost on my car windows maybe last week or the week before. But it was the only one this year.
We normally would have numerous days of it before getting any snowfall here, so a bit odd sure. Here in henrietta we had sleet yesterday morning and on/off throughout.

So Glad I'm back in central Georgia... Not much chance of us getting snow here very often... that, and folks down here don't know what to do when that white stuff starts falling.

That's ok people around here don't know what to do either.

I think what you're supposed to do is slide off the road because you're traveling 75mph in a 35. . .
-
It's generally a good idea to stay off the road for the first few snowfalls around here. People need to get their snow senses back or something.
I feel like we had this conversation this time last year as well.

Strike that... reverse it. If anything is falling around here, people are doing 35 mph in a 75 mph zone. I kid you not... Although many of them do, indeed, go sliding off the road anyway, lol.

As someone who's driven trucks around northeast Ohio in blizzards where my car was completely covered and the trucks were stuck till a plow dug them out, this is almost incomprehensible to me. The worst one I remember was like 5' during the day, and another 3' overnight. Spent the night in a sleeper cab and woke up to snow stacked up over the cab windows!

My dad said that there is snow on the ground in NY.
