Not really in
panic mode
but still have a few gifts to get... only one is needed this week.. Ugh.. I hate shopping.Just don't have any ideas.....
I am the worst at present shopping. Thankfully my wife is really good at it so I don't have as much to worry about (except when shopping for her).

Answering SW support questions really gives you some insight into what "average" IT support is like in the SMB market. It's sadly common to get people who aren't aware where they just installed the software! Like... how did you install it without knowing where you were? And more importantly... why were you installing software to an unknown location?

Latest issue with the Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro.... now the screen "spins." Every few seconds it goes in a different direction.

Was this a Linux machine? For some reason I have a hard time remembering where I install things on my Linux VMs.

SW is a Windows only product. And by "where" I don't mean what folder, I mean on what server.

This is how "out of context" IT people often gets. This person in this post actually acted like it was completely crazy to care if staff were productive. Like profits were the furthest thing from their goals. They are so focused on being "in control" that it seems foreign to them that making money might be the objective of the business.

You ain't kidding! I spent way too much time tinkering with work stuff at home at my last job (I lived on Campus and was plugged directly in to the campus network most of the time. It was great.

I work at a state college... so unless any of my side jobs need me for anything after Christmas, I get to enjoy being a lazier bum than usual for a week or so.
