I did a Windows 8.1 to Linux Mint migration today and the network noticeably improved on Linux.

Today was the day of Cryptowall... two computer were found infected and encrypted some high traffic shares. So I spent my morning running around to a dozen computers scanning them with a scanner we knew worked. I was only one of four people doing the same.
