What Are You Doing Right Now

They are hoping that the luggage arrives in San Francisco. My understanding is that it is not tracked at this time and the stated rules on Greyhound's site were not followed by Greyhound and so the system is not operating as intended so there is some question as where the luggage is.

I'll be installing coal and radiant floor heating in my next house if it doesn't have it already. Radiant floor heating is the best, as in comfortable not sure about efficiency.
Purely a guess on my part, but it seems like it would be very efficient because it is direct water to solid heat rather than heating the air. You spend energy heating what matters rather than focusing on heating the air at the ceiling.
Plus you absorb a fair amount of the heat through your feet

Quite a bit to be sure. That's why everything down here is tile to keep us cool. We are often barefoot on the tile here, makes a huge difference.

As I understand it, radiant heat is about heating the things we interact with, not the air. My dad had radiant heat in his garage/shop 30 years ago. It heated the floor (that was before the more common in concrete tubes of today). You didn't get the comfort of blowing warm air, but once the floor was warm, the whole room was pretty comfortable.

Radiant heat still heats the air. The floor is just the radiator.
Traditional radiators were radiant heat too.

LOL of course you're right, but unlike traditional HVAC systems that heat the air and pump it around, the radiant heats the object, and the object heats the air...

My dad's house was built in 1950 and is a concrete slab ranch home with radiant heat in the floor. Outside is stone. Once the windows were replaced with thermal, it was best house ever for winter.

Greyhound lost nothing. The traveler got off the bus prior to the ticketed location. It is up to the traveler to ensure that their luggage gets off with them in that instance.
Agreed. That is the normal method of luggage on the bus. You have your carry-on and you hand your checked bag to the porter to shove under the bus. Even mentioned that little fact.

That's the normal way but they didn't allow that on his ride. They were over booked on luggage and the luggage did not get to travel with them. Some of it did, but not all. His was not one of the ones that got to go with them.

In this particular case Dominica checked their online policy and they did not follow it. Technically this one wasn't AJ screwing up. Greyhound has a policy about how luggage is handled and they decided not to follow it AND did not notify people on the bus that their luggage was not going along with them. Yes, AJ was asking for trouble by not following directions from you, but he DID follow the directions from Greyhound.

Excuse after excuse. Wasn't my fault, I followed what they said. Wasn't my fault, I didn't know. They were changing the rules on me. I would have a great suspicion about anything being said at this point.

Dominica actually looked up the rules from Greyhound in this case. Don't know if AJ thought that he was following the rules or not. Dominica looked them up and determined that Greyhound didn't follow their stated policy on their website.

Which makes me wonder about the whole thing. They don't "hold" luggage. It's not an airport where there is tons of space to do something like this. The Dallas stop is half filled with busses and a small waiting room. The only place to store stuff like that would be at the garage between the Dallas County Jail and the halfway house on I-35. The SF stop is literally a temp building, so however it was supposed to be stored is a strange one.
For a company to do something like that so far out of policy, well, it doesn't pass the smell test. Even ignoring the obvious security faults here, what exactly were people supposed to do when they got to SF? There were five busses running that route per day, how were they supposed to catch up? Nah, it's not sounding right. And when something doesn't sound right, I demand proof.

It wasn't in Dallas but at a transfer in Abilene. They didn't have enough space for the "onward" buses so some of the luggage was handled by a different run.

I had Delta do the same thing to me a few weeks ago. Put my luggage on a different plane than me and almost had me go to a different place than the luggage because they didn't have a way to keep us together. There was no storage, just a lack of planning and sending luggage on without the person.
