Delta Airline RANT

Wow...that's quite unprofessional...

AT this point it looks like I wont be able to make it out in time. US Airways is what I was going to fly back with and I called them they refunded the $$ in minutes no real questions asked.

Not enough tickets sold. And they couldn't have told me this like 24 hours ago when I could do something about it?
Didn't know they even canceled for that.

Legally they can't. They have to offer to bump you same as any other flight. They have to keep upping the offer until you accept it or they have to fly you.

Yeah last time this happened this bad (not a few hours but a full day) I had to get another flight with another airline in order to get to my destination. They will be refunding my money this time (well not my money but I will be getting them a refund today). On hold with them right now.

I once flew to Paris and there were less than 10 passengers on the plane. It was a big plane as well. The amount of shaking and rattling that an empty plane does was pretty scary. I'd never considered that the flight might have been cancelled, though I suppose the plane may have been needed in Paris anyway, so cancelling wouldn't have worked. And I've heard that airlines would rather fly empty planes than lose their precious slots to a rival.

I've flown on some basically empty planes recently. Like in the last two months.

I flew down for SW in Austin last year on a fairly large plane with almost no one in it. I think maybe 10-15. It is quite surprising.

Drag to hear you're having issues with Delta.
Since I live in a middle'ish sized city we rarely have empty planes out of here. Book early or book expensive!

If you flying involves Texas use Southwest

I recomment JetBlue when possible. Have had very good luck.
