XFCE 4.12 Releases
-
The Register (El Reg) talks about the Coming of Age of XFCE with the release of XFCE 4.12. Is XFCE ready to be your Linux desktop of choice?
Look for XFCE in Xubuntu 15.04 releasing shortly.

I have long been a fan of XFCE. It is light and pretty easy to use. Light enough to be just the amount of desktop that you need so you don't feel like you are missing much from Gnome or KDE while still being resource light and very fast. I prefer Cinnamon, but XFCE is near the top of the desktop preferences list.

Nice!
I run Xubuntu on an older Lenovo lappy. Prior to the RAM upgrade, it was surprisingly quick for old kit.
I would have hated to see it with what ever version of Windows it had originally.
Ā
Since quadrupling the RAM a few weeks ago, I haven't had an opportunity to use it. -
I'll definitely be upgrading to this new version and checking it out before I try a different flavour of Linux on it though
